Two Years Later - 1950

I swallowed my nerves. Tried. It didn't succeed. Alice was looking at me.

"Don't be nervous." She whispered. I nodded and tried to look for any shapes or shadows in the house. It was a very old but yet modern house made of red brick and glass. There was glass for a wall on the left side of the house upstairs. My sharp vampire eyes picked out a bed and various other personal items. Most of the stuff in the room were still in boxes.

"How long have they been here?" I hissed.

"A day. Just moved in." We were in Coeur d'Alene , Idaho USA and staring up at the Cullens' brick and glass three storey house set in a clearing and surrounded by woods.

"I don't know if I can do this." Alice looked at me. Her butterscotch eyes melted as she looked into my amber eyes (a relapse a week ago).

"I know you can." She took my hand and was about to make her first step towards the house when the front door opened. A woman edged her way out of the door, a washing basket under one of her arms. The sun was out and the second she stepped out from underneath the shade of the over hanging roof, her skin burst into a million sparkles. She went down the three steps and stopped on the grass, spotting us. I could feel that Alice no longer felt nervous. Her excitement was so obvious, I was certain that the woman had felt it and all. Alice let go of my hand and was beside the woman in less than a second. I ran over in my own vampire speed and stopped beside Alice.

"Esme." Alice couldn't help herself as she hugged the woman. This was awkward as she still had a washing basket under her arm. Esme put the basket down and peeled Alice off her. I took Alice's wrist and gently but firmly pulled her back to stand beside me.

"Please excuse my fiancee. She gets slightly over excited sometimes." Esme looked at my eyes, shuddered slightly then to Alice's. She then relaxed, a soft frown pulling down her perfect eyebrows.

"You're vegetarians?" Esme sounded like my own mom. Her voice was sweet and kind. However her words confused me.

"Yes. Well... Jasper relapses occasionally but he tries his best." Alice gestured to me when she said my name. I felt embarrassed at this and nudged her.

"Alice..." I muttered. She smiled a reassuring smile at me.

"We all fall off the wagon sometimes." Esme told me. I looked at her and she was not judgemental. Her emotions showed nothing but compassion and kindness.

"Esme?" Who are you talking to?" A blonde haired male came out of the front door. His dark gold eyes widened slightly when they spotted Alice and I.

"Sorry, this is Alice and I'm Jasper." I introduced.

"Carlisle, Esme." Carlisle placed his hand on his wife. It may have been a simple gesture to any human's eye but I could tell by the slight tightening of his eyes that it was a gesture of PROTECTION rather than love.

"We mean no harm." Alice lifted her hand, palm up in surrender. Her words were soft, comforting.

"Please excuse us but why are you here?" Esme asked.

"I spent my human life in darkness, so much that I do not remember anything of my past. I woke up alone, I woke up, unsure of what had happened or who I even was. I found Jasper and he was changed too. I woke up from my transformation and I saw a vision. I saw a family of five that takes in two more and we all become a family of seven. I saw a family which I have wanted for so long, something which I wanted more than to become a vampire wreck and be destroyed for my sins."

"You saw a vision?" Carlisle's eyes widened in amazement.

"Yes. I see visions of the future. I saw myself and Jasper here and so we sought you out." Carlisle looked at me.

"And what about you?"

"At first, I just wanted to follow wherever she went," My fingers stroked Alice's cheek. "She told me more about you and I realized how much I wanted and needed a family. My own family shall never know what happened to me, shall never see me again and yet I miss being a son and a brother. I may be physically twenty year of age but I'm not old enough yet to want to be on my own with no family. I miss being in a family..." I couldn't look up at them both as I was suddenly overwhelmed with loneliness, regret and pain. I had missed my family more than ever. None of what I was saying was a lie or made up. Alice knew how much I was missing my family. We left to find the Cullens when I finally confessed to her how I truly felt.

Suddenly Esme's arms were around me. She smelled so nice. I hugged her back, unable to resist her motherly touch. Carlisle cleared his throat and Esme broke away from me to look back at her husband. I looked at him too, pleading. I could have influenced his emotions to make him say yes but I wanted him to have his full opinion on whether or not to send us away.

"Welcome to our family." He smiled a kind, welcoming smile and his emotions were kind as well so I knew he was being genuine.

"Thank you!" Alice squealed. She rushed past Carlisle and into the house. I rolled my eyes at Carlisle and Esme.

"Sorry. Over excited." I smiled at them and they both smiled back.

"You're both very welcome here. Unfortunately Edward and Emmett won't be back from their hunting trip until tomorrow so it's just us for now." Carlisle told me. I nodded.

"Okay." All three of us walked in just as Alice was walking past with a box in her arms. None of us said a word but we all shared a secret smile. I could already tell by their emotions that they were both falling in love with Alice and her cute quirky ways.

Alice came back through a door, beaming. She took my hand and pulled me up the staircase. I was slightly hesitant at first but Esme caught my gaze and nodded her encouragement. This relaxed me slightly so I let Alice pull me upstairs. She took me straight to the room which had the glass wall... And a stunning view. It was truly breathtaking. Alice and I stood hand in hand, looking out. The sun was setting and it was a sight that was spectacular. The sun's rays bathed us in its light, turning our skin into millions of diamond sparkles. I turned to face Alice.

"You're so beautiful..." I murmured to her, brushing a piece of her shoulder length hair behind her ear. She smiled softly and reached up on her tiptoes to kiss me. I kissed her back. Our kissing got more passionate and we eventually moved to the bed. We were as quiet as possible as we wanted to be polite. No one interrupted us though and so we made love in peace.
