The stranger/sparrow

"What took you so long?"
The rage seething from him could be felt from miles away. All directed towards this poor sparrow.
Without waisting time, knowing the man couldn't understand its chirping, the sparrow dripped a stick into the ink.
Still shaking, it began to write on the paper what you told it, and what it saw from when it first got there.
Leaving out certain details, he felt weren't necessary or just didn't want to tell him because he felt bad for you.
Stalking felt bad enough, but after you were so kind to him it just left a heavy set of guilt on his back.
When he was finished, the paper was snatched from the ground and read by the man.
The sparrow stepped back, but looked at him as if he was worried he'd find something off.
The man was silent, the rage still clear as he read the paper word for word, down to the last sentence more than twice.
Letting the fact that you were hurt sit in for so long, it nearly drowned out the fact that he was thrilled to read you were alive.
The injuries were spotted, so a lie would do for now to explain where those feathers went.
Then he got down to who you met during the trial, and it turns out that your relationship with those two got a little stronger.
'I'll have to fix that...before it becomes an issue..'
He rolled up the paper and looked up at the moon. Shining down just like it did the night he saw you again.

"Yes, and I know how strange that might sound to you both, but it's a good thing."
