"I will find it and Kill it, before it gets the chance to kill anyone else."

I reassured as I left the building. Sword in its holster and now clearly aware of what I had to do.

'This...is going to embarrass me, but if it means I can kill this demon faster it may be worth it.'

I thought to myself as I looked up at the sky and saw the sun had began to set by now, and it was the perfect time to try to drag the demon out of hiding.

I walked over to a fruit stand, and payed them with what I had for a crate of spoiled fruit.

I dumped it into a bag and place the crate in the middle of the village, and stood onto of it.

Taking a deep breath, and preparing to go through with this dumb plan I spoke as loud as possible.

" I am the first born child of the (L/N) family!"

The older and younger people alike rushed to pull me down from the crate, but I stood firm and looked around the crowd for any suspicious behavior.

I repeated myself multiple times, and hoped that whatever demon or spy was around, had heard me amongst the crowd.

Eventually I jumped from the crate and watched as the pushed it to the side side questioned my sanity.

"I will kill that demon, it is what I came here to do."

I pushed the embarrassment down into the pits of my stomach and instead went to focus on what the older people said.

All were concerned for my safety, some insisted that I ran while the older women recommended that I stayed with them.

"Don't be foolish child! You must hide!"

"No! They must run!"

This just confirmed that the demon struck at night when they found a new first born to take.

Whatever or whoever gave it information just must not have been in the village at the time based off how these people whispered their warnings.

I walked through the crowed and thanked them for their concern but I couldn't stay behind and let this go on.

Still, I was begged to ignore the situation and even attempted to be persuaded into going into hiding.

I rejected every last offer and kept wondering the village until the sun fully set and the crowd cleared.

After that, it was like a ghost town of some sort. The wind could hardly be heard and if it wasn't for my shoes clacking against the ground, you could hear a mouse chew.
