"You aren't forgetting about the bet, are you?" Theo asked Draco, who had been caught staring down the table at dinner the next night on Thursday.

"It's not on my top priorities. I don't think Callist ever had a chance."

"Wow! Somebody is confident. The second week is almost over." Blaise winked.

"With good reason." Theo told him, but he grimaced. "Did you hear what Callist did? He tried sneaking her a love potion! What a cheat, that's why Draco has to put him in his place."

"Love potion? That's the oldest trick in the book. He's such a loser." Blaise replied.

"Who's a loser?" Johnathan said as he approached them and sat beside Theo.

"No one." Theo deadpanned.

Draco eyed Mathew as he tried speaking to Y/n by tapping her on the shoulder, but to no avail. He was forced to walk away when Daphne took out her wand threateningly.

Draco tried catching her eyes but she never looked up at him. Mathew had finally approached their table and slumped in his seat. No one really bothered to ask him what was wrong and continued to eat with their dinner.

That Thursday night after dinner, he had escaped his friends and went off to the library in hopes to borrow another book this time.

He had gone straight to the isle where his favourite books were. The library was almost empty, just a few students were present doing their homework alone.

He picked out a book and had walked out the isle, immediately catching Y/n walking with a stack of books to another isle.

He made his way to the counter instead. "Madam Pince."

"Yes dear?" She looked at him through her small glasses.

He leaned on the counter. "Some 5th year Hufflepuff told me to pass this message to you, that McGonagall requires you in her office."

"Headmistress McGonagall?" She whispered, immediately fixing her hair and glasses.

He nodded.

"I could have sworn she was away for business this week!" She whispered again.

He shrugged. "I'm only the messenger. Better safe than sorry."

"That is true, thank you Mr Malfoy." She stood up straight as she quickly walked out the library.

Draco watched her walk out and once he was content, he turned around and started searching for Y/n.

He found her stacking a book in a shelf.

"Hey." He said and she turned.

She stared blankly at him, but she looked nervous. "Hello." She walked passed him to another isle and slid another book on the shelf.

She turned her head to him again as her hand was still rested on the shelf. "Did you need anything?"

"I just want to borrow this book." He held up another one of Jane Austen's books, 'Pride and Prejudice'.

"Oh, Madam Pince should be there." She pointed towards the counter.

He leaned on the bookshelf comfortably. "I checked, she isn't."

She raised her eyebrow. "Go look again, she's there."

He sighed. "She isn't. Why don't you come have a look? And if she's there, by all means, scold me all you want." He offered.

She sighed. "Fine," she put the stack of books she was holding on the floor and walked towards the counter, with him following behind her.

She stopped in front of the counter and he stopped behind her as his smirk grew.

He heard her sigh quietly as she walked and made her way behind the counter. He walked up to it and slid the book towards her with his fingers still touching it. When she tried reaching for the book, he slid it away.

"What?" She asked.

"I think I deserve an apology don't you think?"

Her lips parted slightly in disbelief. "Give me the book Malfoy."

He leaned forward. "Aren't you supposed to be hospitable towards the students?"

She leaned forward also, to his surprise. "I'm a student too, so it cancels out." She snatched the book from his hands and leaned back. She opened the back page.

He leaned back and watched her take out the quill from the drawer. She handed it to him and he snatched it from her.

She shot him a small glare when he wasn't looking as he signed his signature. He took the time to also admire her signature that was above his as he closed the book.

She walked away from the counter back to the isle they were at, and he followed.

She muttered a spell that made the stack of books on the floor levitate beside her as she slid the books on their respective shelves.

"Okay, what is it now?" She noticed he followed her.

He smiled a little as he held up the book. "You didn't tell me what you thought of it."

"Must you need a review for everything?" She asked.

"Because I trust your opinion so much, yes." He crossed his arms as he leaned on the shelf, looking down on her. She invited herself to also lean on the shelf and cross her arms. She looked at the book in his hand.

"It's another of Jane Austen's, another romance, and another set in a boring time as you put it a few days before."

"No, I need more than that. I need a better explanation. With more words." He smiled a little as he waited for her response.

"The main character's name is Elizabeth."

"That's it?"

"Dear Merlin just read it!" She groaned.

"We'll talk about it after then." He tapped the book on her shoulder and walked off.
