He was so close last weekend. So close to actually feeling her lips on his.

Though, he should have focused on a more pressing matter right now. He stared, coldly, down the table at Y/n talking with a boy across the table next to Pansy.

Theo also found himself silently complaining but only made disgruntled noises while looking away.

It was three days later and still, he couldn't find any chance to be alone with her. At all. They were at dinner that Wednesday night.

It's like she changed her schedule, and he couldn't pick up on it at all. He wanted the old schedule back. He liked it better.

"Why are you two so quiet?" Blaise finally said, putting his cutlery down.

"Pansy's giving me silent treatment." Theo pouted, resting his head on the table.

Draco only kept staring, until a few minutes later she had gotten up and walked out. He waited no more than 30 seconds before he excused himself and followed her. He immediately lost her, but as soon as he turned a corner, he almost bumped into her.

"You're not following me." She stated.

"Actually I was." He replied as he looked down on her. Her eyes widened a little, like she expected him to to refuse such an accusation.

"Why?"

"You know why.." he spoke quietly.

He admired her as the moon light shone down on them, mainly on her, highlighting all her features as she looked up at him.

She took a small step back. "I don't."

He gave her a small smile, looking away to the window then back at her. "I wanted to borrow a book."

"The library closes early on Wednesdays." She took another small step back. He stood in his place.

"You know how trusting I am," he paused, and she gave him a cold stare as she crossed her arms.

"—with the books." He clarified, trying to avoid a grimace.

"I'll allow you, only because you won't take no for an answer." She turned sharply and started walking to the direction of the library, and he followed her eagerly.

"5 minutes." She said as she closed the library door behind them.

"Whatever you want." He muttered as he started walking to the literature section. She stood looming at the end of the isle.

"It's scary when you're looking at me like that." He said, his fingers grazing all the books in front of him.

She walked up next to him and turned toward the shelf. "Hurry up and pick one, Malfoy."

"When you rush me like that it stresses me."

"Sorry, baby." She replied mockingly as she crossed her arms. He only smiled a little as he kept looking at the books.

"So, recommend me one to hurry up the process." He offered.

She walked back and picked off a small white book off the shelf, handing it to him. He took it disappointedly. It was 'Julius Caesar' by Shakespeare, a book of betrayal. He made a small noise.

She turned and walked off and he followed her.

"What's the point in even borrowing this anyway? You've probably already read it, along with your other books that you borrow." She took out the quill and slid it over to him.

He put the book down on the table and slid it towards her. "This one is an exception. I haven't read it."

She scoffed. "Yeah well maybe you should. You could learn a thing or two from it."

He put his lips together. "You sure know how to jab someone through the chest." He signed and closed the book.

"I only learn from what's in front of me." She crossed her arms. He only stared at her, clutching the quill in his hand.

"Fine, that's fair." He replied quietly. He thought she had somewhat forgiven him, but it seems that he was more than wrong.

She took out her hand for the quill. He carefully placed it on her hand and she took it.

"Close the door on your way out." She snapped quietly as she walked towards the door and out, slamming the door. He flinched.

"Jeez.." another voice had said from a few feet behind him. He glared and turned around.

Mathew looked beaten and bruised. "She'll never like you." He smiled.

"And you think she likes you better?" Draco replied with confidence. Mathew stalked ahead, now they were only two metres apart.

"You wanna bet on it Malfoy?" Mathew hissed in Draco's face.

"Shut up."

"No no, I'm serious." Mathew insisted. Draco only glared.

"Invite me to your annual Christmas party, she'll dance with me, and you'll back off." Mathew tapped Draco's shoulder tauntingly, before retracting. "And that's an order."

"She won't be there." Draco scoffed. "You tried forcing yourself on her, what makes you think she will dance with you anyway?"

"She most certainly won't dance with you." Mathew looked him up and down.

"I admire that you're not scared, but if you show up I'll personally have to deal with you, and you don't want that."

Mathew smiled, taking out a piece of paper. Draco glared at the fancy writing sprawled on the front. "Your mother already invited my family and I."

Draco glared a last time before he snatched his book from the counter and strolled out, making sure to lock the door behind him.
