After they ate, Draco paid and they walked back to the alleyway in silence.

Complete silence. But Draco thought it was comfortable, and he hopes that she thought that way too, otherwise,— it was truly awkward.

Draco was used to it anyway, he barely talked. There was no point anymore. He had nothing to say anymore.

He could contain his excitement well though. He was happy he was here with her.

Y/n closed the door behind them and they walked down the narrow tunnel. She had almost slipped but had caught herself with the help of Draco's shoulder. From there, he held her wrist, too nervous to hold her hand properly as they continued to walk through the tunnel. They had finally reached the exit and had closed the trapdoor behind them.

Again, they walked in silence to their common room until they were now standing at the bottom of the girls' dormitory steps. She held the brown paper bag tightly in her hand.

"Um—thank you for coming with me." Y/n thanked him quietly, with a bit of nervousness on her features that he noticed.

"I'll be coming tomorrow to borrow it." He looked around the room and his eyes made their way back to hers as he pocketed his hands.

"I really want to give you your money back. Will you take it back?"

They both leaned in so they could hear their whispers.

He let out a soft and short chuckle.

"No," he looked away. "It's non-refundable anyway.." he trailed off as he suddenly felt her press her lips to his cheek. His lips parted and his eyes widened.

His face refused to look at her, and by the time he turned to look at her she was already walking up the stairs to her dormitory, closing the door behind her.

Draco let out a breath that he didn't know he was even holding in. He brought his fingers to where she kissed him.

He quickly recalled how her lips felt; soft, and she kissed him right in the centre of his right cheek. Not too high, not too close to the corner of his lips, and not too low to his jaw, but in the centre.

Ever since it all ended.. ever since the war, and even before that, he had never seen himself in this situation. This was new.

He swallowed and finally made his way to the boys' dormitory steps. Although he was stopped at the sight of someone who stood right atop of it.

Mathew walked down the steps with a cold stare. Draco stepped back, narrowing his eyes at him.

"Wow, Malfoy. You really won," he scoffed as he made his way over to him. They stood a metre apart.

"What are you talking about?"

"Oh don't act like that, by all means, start bragging. I'm waiting!" He was almost amused if it wasn't for the look in his dark eyes.

Draco crossed his arms.

"How did you get her to kiss you? You gave her a love potion didn't you?"

"I don't stoop to as low as you, Callist. You should know that."

Mathew took a step towards him. "But you already have everything, you don't need to win this bet so badly as to use a potion— which would mean you actually talked to her," a smile had crept on his lips as he almost laughed.

"Watch it," Draco threatened, his arms resting by his sides now.

"You may be Draco Malfoy, but just talking to someone as good as Y/n won't get her to like you, she hates death eaters."

Draco glared as he took a step forward.

Mathew's smile grew wider but his eyes grew angrier.

"You're a death eater also, so I don't understand your point." Draco frowned, his eyes were angry.

"The difference between you and I is that I can actually talk to people, I'm sociable, but you? You cant even hold a conversation!—"

Draco had had enough of his rambling and had balled his right hand into a fist, punching him right across the face. Mathew grunted as his head was thrown to the side and he stumbled back on a wall.

Draco held his hand as it was now throbbing, but not as much as Mathew who's face was red, swollen, and Draco's ring had left a painful mark also.

Draco walked up to him as he slid down the floor on the wall, breathing heavily. Mathew only glared at Draco as he held his face.

"Don't ever think about talking to me ever again. You were never my friend." Draco spat down on him as he quickly made his way up the steps and into his dorm. He sighed as he leaned his back on the door.

Tuesday morning, Draco had sat across his two friends who stared at him, then at Mathew and Johnathan who were halfway down the table. Mathew had a half swollen eye and cheekbone, and also a glare along with it.

Draco was unbeknownst to Mathew as he ate his breakfast in silence.

"Okay, how'd you do it? How'd you ward them off?" Theo asked curiously.

Draco's eyes snapped to Theo's.

Blaise smiled. "I think his busted hand can answer that question Theo."

Draco now looked at Blaise. He sat up and brought his injured hand under the table, flexing it open and closed.

"So, why did you punch him?" Blaise asked as he took a sip of his drink.

Draco took a deep breath, still keeping a blank stare. "I won the bet and he got mad."

Theo's eyes widened and Blaise had choked on his drink.

"Huh?" Blaise struggled as he continued to cough. Theo sighed and slapped Blaise on the back a few times.

"You kissed Y/n?!" Blaise whispered as he leaned in with Theo.

Draco smiled at the remembrance and he brought two fingers to lightly touch where she kissed him. "More like she kissed me, here."

Theo smiled. "Wow.." he smirked as he gave Draco a small slap on his arm. Draco chuckled and leaned back. He felt a blush quickly creep onto his face.

Blaise raised an eyebrow. "How did you get her to do it?"

"Yeah, I mean, you are sort of—" Theo paused.

"Quiet, I know." Draco chuckled as he rolled his eyes. He wasn't in the mood to glare at them. Being kissed on the cheek he realised was the nicest thing in the world.

Draco shrugged it off and never answered the question. He didn't know either.

His eyes now were only good for looking down the table to stare at Y/n, and he was happy when she had met them back for only a brief moment before she looked away down at her food in a hurry.

It was okay. He'd meet her in the library.
