St Claire's Hospital

Elena rushed to the maternity ward, Caroline and Damon right behind her. Upon entering the room they'd been looking for, they were greeted by a sight of joy.

"Bonnie!"

A beaming raven-haired woman with a wide, bright smile who seemed to be glowing with joy was sitting in a hospital bed. Sitting next to her was her handsome husband, an arm draped around his wife, and in her arms was the small bundle that caused so much joy. A tiny little baby, still a bit red from the birth, with tiny fingers, a tiny nose and a tiny mouth that opened, gaping at the newcomers.

Caroline was the first to arrive at the bed. She squealed. "Hey baby! Oh. My. God! She is sooo adorable! Guys, come, you have to see this!"

Elena and Damon followed their friend, beaming at Bonnie and her newborn daughter.

"You guys can hold her if you want. Just be careful." Still exhausted from giving birth, Bonnie let Elena carefully take her baby. After all, the brunette had a lot of experience with newborn children.

The brunette woman looked at the baby in adoration as the ink-haired man and the bubbly blonde joined around her.

"She is a wonder." Elena breathed out.

Damon gently stoke the little one's fingers. "Yeah. So tiny. Cute."

"Gorgeous like her mother." Enzo added, a proud smirk on his face.

Damon looked up at the parents. "Have you decided for a name yet?"

"Yeah." Bonnie smiled proudly, "We have. Guys, our daughter will be called Zoe. Zoe Sheila Bennett-St. John."

"That's a wonderful name. Middle-named after your Grams?" Elena smiled.

Enzo nodded. "Yeah. And, speaking of which, our little one's namesake is coming here any minute. And she's bringing Jesse."

"Great. Can I hold her now too?" Caroline swooned.

Bonnie and Elena both smiled at their friend's enthusiasm and the brunette woman carefully gave the newborn baby over to the bubbly blonde.

Caroline's apartment

"I should never have given that imbecile Tyler that promotion! Now he's gonna take Hayley to that tiny nest in the middle of nowhere and they're gonna try taking my daughter with them. Mark my words, Caroline, no one takes my child from me! No one!" Klaus talked silently and had his fists clenched, trying to contain his anger.

Caroline exhaled and hugged herself, unsure of what to say. "Have you tried reasoning with her?"

"Yes. She barely listened."

"Daddy?"

Hope's voice pulled both of them out of their moment. Dressed in her white pyjama with a red floral pattern, the child tapped into the room.

At the sight, Klaus' expression softened instantly. "Hey, littlest wolf. What's wrong? Can't you sleep?"

"What are you and and Caroline talking about?" the little girl looked at her father with curiosity.

Klaus, not knowing how to respond, looked at his girlfriend.

Caroline knelt down in front of Hope. "Listen, sweetie. Your Mom and your Dad had a fight. They are angry at each other right now, but they will sort it out. Right now, we all should get some sleep. I'm sure it'll be better in the morning."

Klaus joined her, enfolding his daughter in his arma for a hug. The girl happily wrapped her little arms around his neck, earning the hint of a smile from her Dad.
