Elijah and his brother Klaus were looking forward to celebrating the 4th of July with a huge ball. Everything was going perfectly.
But then Elijah finds out his girlfriend cheated on him. And Klaus, who was enjoying his life as a womanizer...
Bonnie, Caroline and Elena drove over to Damon and Enzo's club. They were meeting some friends there. Plus, a surpise guest was supposed to come. Upon arriving, they were greeted by Damon, his brother Stefan, Enzo, Elena's cousin Jeremy and his girlfriend Anna. Only Lexi and Cami would not join them today. "Hi guys!"
Chatting with each other over drinks was always enjoyable for them. Especially when it came to sharing great news. Anna and Jeremy had just moved together and now, Anna's employer was giving her a raise. She was working as a tour guide. "That's awesome! I am very happy for you, Anna!" Elena said, smiling. "Thanks! But enough about us, what's new with you guys?" she asked.
Caroline tried and failed to hide her smile. "Weelllll...", she started, beaming more with every second, "Klaus offered me the job for the annual Mikaelson Ball on the 4th of July!" Bonnie and Elena smiled. While the others looked confused.
"Wait, who's Klaus?" Jeremy asked.
Caroline scoffed. "Oh, yeah, you don't know yet. Klaus is Tyler's boss." she said.
Bonnie and Elena knew that Caroline was not telling everything, because, as usual, she was not sure enough yet to share it with everyone. The night before, however, when she was alone with her two best friends, she could hardly stop talking about the main topic. Klaus.
Flashback
"Remember how I said he asked me out after I used him as a shoulder to cry on over my break-up with Ty?!? And that I said it would be better to wait for a while, at least three weeks?!? He agreed. And then, he called me exactly two weeks later! I'm serious! Our conversation was exactly 21 days ago. And he called me today! It's like, he's been counting the hours. This is soo romantic!!" she squealed.
End of Flashback
"Oh, okay?" Stefan said. He knew there was more to it by the way Caroline was beaming, but he let it be for now.
They were having a great time. Elena had almost forgotten about the surprise guest. That is, until this guest arrived beaming at her.

"Omg! Jenna?"
Elena could hardly believe it. She hadn't seen her aunt in months. Overwhelmed with joy, she jumped up and rushed to hug her.
Jenna hugged her back smiling. "Hey Elena! It's so good to see you again!" she said. "And look who I brought with me!" She made a gesture at the man following her.
"Ric!" Elena hugged him as well. With Jenna and her husband Alaric living in Phoenix, Elena and the rest of her family did not get to see them very often. Alas, she was thrilled to see them.
Jeremy showed the same joy, but without the surprise since he had known they were coming.
"We thought we would come and barge into my nephew and niece's lives." Jenna said sitting down at their table. "You told me you were almost done with your intern year and you'd have a few days off after that. So, here we are!"
