Three weeks later

Still using his crutch to walk, Klaus was approaching the building of his art business. He was in a bad mood. It was his 33rd birthday and things were not looking good. His baby mama was trying to take his daughter away, his girlfriend had told him that she didn't have time to visit him today and his slowly healing leg was getting on his nerves.

"Not now!" he growled at Josh when he entered the building and saw the young man about to speak to him. Without another word, the dirty blonde man walked past his employee and headed for his studio.

A few minutes later, Klaus came back to the front desk. "Joshua!" he addressed the man again, "I just found a 'No Entry'-sign on my studio door. Would you care to explain what it's doing there?"

"Well... someone came in here earlier today and put it there." Josh started, unsure of how to elaborate on the situation.

Klaus scoffed. "You don't say! And who, pray do tell, would this 'someone' be??"

"I'm... not supposed to say that. But, that person is still in your studio, so..." Josh fiddled with a pen, growing more uncomfortable under his boss' scutiny.

Swirling around on his crutch, the dirty blonde man scowled and headed to his studio again. "Whoever's in there is in some serious trouble!"

He walked through the door, slammed it shut behind him and immediately raised his voice. "Listen, you miserab-"
Having barely started, the words got stuck in his throat as Klaus finally saw the scene in front of him. His blue eyes widened, his mouth dropped open and his crutch fell onto the floor. Every fiber of his body displayed astonishment. Then, slowly, a slightly foolish, but delighted smile spread on his face.

In front of him, there was a scene set up which he sometimes used for means of painting or photography

In front of him, there was a scene set up which he sometimes used for means of painting or photography. It was a background of a sight by the sea, with blue and green waves, foam dancing on the sea, a mysterious yellow and slightly pink sun playing her beams on the scene and a small beach on the side. In front of the scene, there was a fake boulder, looking real and being as big as his dinner table. And on that boulder, there was Caroline, holding a seashell in one hand, posing like a mermaid and wearing absolutely nothing.

"Happy Birthday!" she said, smiling at him.

Slowly, Klaus approached his girlfriend. He was limping a little due to his leg. "Caroline, you... I thought you couldn't... wow!"

The bubbly blonde chuckled. "I'm guessing you like your birthday surprise?"

"Like it? I love it! Honestly, I can't remember ever getting a better one. And that includes the car my mother gave me for my 18th birthday." he exclaimed, breaking into a beam that illuminated his entire face.

Caroline chuckled, a little taken aback. "Okay, you're going to have to tell more about that later. For now, you have a decision to make... would you like to paint your muse or... get a closer look at her first?" At the last sentense, she suggestively wriggled her eyebrows.
