The Potter household was one where it was rare to find a moment of quiet. There was always something going on, always someone talking. Except at night, usually (baring any parties being thrown) everyone would be in their rooms asleep.........or spending some...quality time...with their significant other.

That night was like no other, Luna and James were fast asleep, Luna's head on James' chest while his arms were wrapped around her in a protective manor. They were sleeping peacefully, lost in their own dreams and thoughts of the perfect world that all went away when they woke up. This was a time of absolute peace for them.

However, across the hall, Sirius was in his own bed, his body curled up into a tiny ball, head thrashing back and forth, face pinched with fear, mind lost in a nightmare.

"Luna" He was muttering under his breath.

"Luna" He was saying.

"Luna!" He was yelling, his voice laced with pain.

"Luna!!" He was screaming, as if she were dying and he couldn't save her.

"Luna!!" Sirius screamed, tears streaming down his face.

Sitting up , Luna is looking around frantically, completely lost as to why she heard her name...until she hears it again. Her name being screamed by a voice she would recognise forever. It was her brother, screaming her name as if her were in the most pain of his life (which is a lot, becuase...well....you know)

Jumping out of bed, Luna all but sprinted out of the room, flinging open her door, then Sirius', finding her brother curled up like she used to when she was a child in her house of horrors, finger nails digging into his palms so hard she was sure she would find blood when he finally relaxed, soaked in sweat and shivering.

As she approached his bed, Luna was racking her brain trying to remember what he used to do for her, when she would wake up panic stricken after particularly bad nightmares. How did he calm her down?

Reaching him, Luna sat on the edge of her brothers bed, gently stroked back the hair that was sticking to his forehead, whispering his name to him softly, trying not to startle him awake becuase she knew that would only make it worse.

Gasping for air, feeling like the weight of the world was crushing his lungs, Sirius shot up, only stopping when his head hit a warm body in front of him and an "Ow" was muttered from the owner of said body.

"Wa- What's going on? Where am I?"

Continuing to stoke his hair gently, Luna explained very softly "You're ok, you're safe. We're at home, you had a nightmare...you're ok...I'm okay."

Feeling all of his fear and tension basically evaporate at the sound of Luna's voice, Sirius reached forward to wrap his arms around her body, resting his head on her shoulder as she hugged him back.

5 minutes. For 5 minutes, neither of them moved, Sirius trying to calm himself down in the safety net that was his sister, while Luna was enjoying such a rare moment with her brother, where neither of them were in danger. They were both safe.

Pulling back, Sirius finally looked at his sister, the light from the door behind her illuminating her. She was sitting in front of him, in James' old quidditch jumper and a pair of his own joggers, a soft smile on her face. But that was not what he was focusing on. He was looking at the scar across her neck that was ever so prominent in this lighting, the scar that lead down from her shoulder, just peaking out from the neckline of her jumper. The tiny scars that were littered over her hands. All because of him. All because he had failed as a big brother. Of course nothing that had happened to Luna was his fault, but it will always be a battle for Sirius to believe that. He was struggling now particularly having just woken up from a nightmare where he couldn't save her. He just felt so guilty.
