Gripping onto Remus' arm, Luna made her way downstairs for the first time in 7 days. She was literally going crazy being locked up in her room.
"Don't let me go, please" she said looking to the tall boy on her left
"I would never" he replied back with a smile.
Still holding onto each other, the pair entered the sitting room, where James, Sirius and Mia were sitting -Peter had been called home by his parents, but would be back in a few days, and Monty had had to go into the Ministry to finish up some reports- attempting to play a muggle board game. Key word there being attempting because none of them really knew how to play it, but it was funny to watch so no one actually taught them.
Looking up, all 3 of the magic users smiled, but Sirius smiled a smile so broad Luna was concerned that it might actually reach his ears. Speaking softly he got up, momentarily forgetting about the game, and made his way over to his baby sister. "hey sis..."
When he reached her, he held his arms out, inviting Luna for a hug, but the look on his face told her that she didn't have to take it, that he would understand if she didn't feel comfortable to hug him just yet.
But the thing was, she did. And she didn't know why, she knew that she feared pretty much everything and everyone right now, apart from the 8 people that had been there for this past week. So she gave Remus a smile and a nod, and made her way into her brothers arms, which quickly wrapped around her toros.
~
Sitting next to James Luna was trying to keep a straight face as he was attempting to teach her the rules of the board game, but the fact that he didn't actually know them was sort of an issue.
"Prongs, your explaining the rules all wrong. Everyone starts with the same amount of money, NOT the amount of money decreases with the players 'level of attractiveness'. That's simply preposterous, how would you get any money if those were the rules?" Remus stated in a slightly bored and exasperated tone.
Looking offended James jumped up quite dramatically and ran over to the chair that Remus had been sitting in reading his book quite comfortably.
Not expecting the sudden movement, Luna flinched, hard, but she tried her best to play it off as her moving in her seat. Not that that was fooling anyone in the room, seeing as everyone noticed and stopped right in their tracks.
"Oh look at the time! If you boy want to get to Diagon Alley before dark you better get going, those schoolbooks aren't going to buy themselves!" Mia exclaimed, drawing the attention from a very grateful Luna.
~
The boys had left about 30 minutes ago, promising to be back soon, and telling Luna not to worry because they would get her everything, she would need for her 6th year. That just left Mia and Luna, who had been sitting in the kitchen, both with cups of tea, talking.
"I'm exhausted Mia, and I don't know why"
"You don't know why? You've been fighting a war your entire life; I would be worried if you weren't exhausted sweetie"
Pausing for a second to contemplate the older witches words, Luna realised just how much she had missed by having Walburga as her Mother. She never had they type of relationship with her parents that she had always craved, an honest, open, and trusting one. No, instead her childhood was filled with lies, deceit and pain.
Deciding that she wanted to end that cycle, Luna started "I-I want to tell you about what happened to me this summer, but I don't want to hurt you..."
Reaching out and squeezing the younger witches hand, Mia's heart broke for the girl. She would rather keep everything to herself than risk hurting anyone else with just the thought of what happened to her, "You tell me whatever you feel you need to, I will always be here to listen."
So that's exactly what Luna did, she told Mia everything, from getting home at the start of the summer, to getting the dark mark, to the day of her 'wedding', and to say that Mia's heart shattered would be an understatement, she was horrified that any parent would do that to their little girl. But she kept smiling, knowing that if she showed the horror she was feeling, Luna would feel endlessly guilty.
Standing up, Mia pulled Luna into a hug that could only be described as motherly. It was a hug that Luna had only ever received from Mia, and she hoped it would stay that way. "Thank you" Mia whispered into the girls hair softly.
Feeling a bit confused Luna looked up at the woman, "For what?"
"For staying you"
A/N-
Obviously, Luna is going to have a lot to struggle with, but she has a safe space with the Potter family, it would be awful for something to happen to them...wouldn't it?
