Going back to her dorm, fully intent on seeing Maria and Katie then grabbing some clothes before she headed back out to meet Sirius, who was waiting in the library with Remus so he could take Luna up towards his dorm, Luna was ambushed by her friends.

"You should have heard it Luna!" Katie exclaimed the second Luna entered the room

"Heard what?" Luna asked, confused.

"James! Right after you and Sirius went through, he stood up, with this look on his face that I've only seen him use when he plays us at quidditch, and stormed up towards Dumbledore and McGonagall." Maria continued, placing her hands-on Luna's shoulders to force the girl onto her bed

"And then he said something that we couldn't hear, but I can guess" Katie then started, as if they had rehearsed when each of them would speak

"He definitely told them something that involved 'fucking' and 'bastard'" Maria cut in, knowing that Katie was too nice to swear

"Thank you, Ria." Katie rolled her eyes sarcastically before continuing. "As I was saying, after James said what he said, they all left the hall, James still looking..."

"Pissed off" Maria cut in again

"Again, thank you Ria. Anyway, they all left, so obviously we followed, with Remus and Peter. They all went into McGonagall's office, and the was James yelled at them, honestly I'm surprised he didn't get expelled!" Katie exclaimed, looking at Luna's astonished face

"What?"

Picking up the conversation again, Maria continued the story "He told them that they were fucking idiots for letting you be a champion, and that they should know their own students well enough to know that you wouldn't fucking enter the stupid shitting tournament. Them I'm pretty sure he swore to merlin about how much he hated the tournament and, by association, them."

"Bloody hell!" Luna exclaimed

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure he said that too." Maria laughed

"No I mean bloody hell, he's head boy! He should not be doing that for me. He should b-"

Cutting Luna off, Katie placed a silencing hand on the girls shoulder "Luna, he's protecting you. If he hadn't done it, we would have"

"You would have?" Luna was so used to people letting her down *cough*HER ENTIRE FAMILY*cough* that it honestly still baffled her that people would want to do things for her.

"Do you not know us at all stupid girl?" Maria questioned "We would go to the end of the earth to protect you, as you would for us, so yelling at McGonagall and Dumbledore is really nothing"

Smiling, Luna stood up and pulled her best friends into a hug that seemed to express all the words that she couldn't

After telling her friends her plan for the rest of the evening, promising they would meet at the three broomsticks tomorrow for Butterbeer, Luna grabbed a bundle of clothes as she headed out of her room, with the intention of only seeing one member of the Black family. That was until Regulus stopped her.

"Luna..." he started as the girl was approaching him in the corridor.

Walking past him, Luna didn't even acknowledge him

"Luna!" Louder this time, Regulus had to practically jog to catch up with Luna

Still with no acknowledgment from Luna, Regulus just wanted to check on his sister.

"LUNA!" yelling at her down the corridor caught Luna's attention. Mainly because she didn't want the attention that comes from being yelled at down the corridor.
