It was a quiet evening at the end of October, the 27th to be exact, when Luna entered the library, searching for some quite away from the gawking eyes of the other students, sick and tired of answering questions about how she felt to be the Hogwarts champion, or people telling her how lucky she was to be chosen. She just needed some quiet. So that's what she found, curled up by one of the windows so she could watch the way the shadows danced around the full moon every time she got distracted from her book. Alice in wonderland. A muggle classic, or so she heard. It reminded her of Remus Lupin, so naturally, she'd read it about a thousand times this year, along with cramming her own personal comments in the margins. Some of them weren't really even relevant to the story, just jokes she had thought of whilst reading and wanted to get on paper so she wouldn't forget. But some were actually relevant, like how the mad hatter was a representation of the other side of humans, the side she was very well acquainted with. The side she would never forget.

After reading for about 20 minutes, Luna heard 2 chairs pull up in front of her, and without even looking up said, in a rather pissed off tone she said "Yes, I'm really excited about my chance to compete in the Triwizard tournament. No, you can't have my autograph. Please go away."

"Wow Looney, cold. Couldn't I just get a little autograph, I am your biggest fan!" A voice she would recognise forever spoke across from her with obvious sarcasm.

Putting down her book, Luna exclaimed "Mar!" as she jumped to her feet and wrapped her arms around the blonde witch, who hugged her right back.

"What are you doing here all alone Looney?" Marlene questioned, not really understanding why anyone would voluntarily go to the library, even though she was best friends with Lily Evans

"Trying to get some piece from the rest of the school...and my brother. All everyone seems to do is ask me intrusive questions that they suddenly think are ok to ask. So I'm in hiding"

"I don't think Sirius is around tonight anyway, so your clear from him and his lot. Everyone else are dickheads though, so you give me names and I'll beat them up." Marlene said, cracking her knuckles at the end to emphasise her point, making Luna laugh.

"Actually, that's why we came to find you" the person sitting on the other chair spoke for the first time, after having watched Luna and Marlene's interaction

Turning her attention to the red-head, Luna felt the inexplicable urge to apologise for her reaction to Marleen, and for ignoring Lily "Sorry, that was rude of me, just ignoring you like that"

"No need Luna, you don't know me, there was no reason for you to be excited to see me" Lily smiled, knowing well enough from Sirius how the Black's were conditioned growing up and, after doing research, knowing how to put their minds at ease.

Relaxing slightly in her chair, which she had moved back to while apologising to Lily, Luna remembered the girls original point "So Siri?"

"Yes, as you know it's his birthday soon, and it's kinda become a tradition that we-"

Cutting in, Marlene in a louder voice exclaimed "Throw a massive fucking party!" whilst throwing her hands in the air.

"Yes Mar, we throw a kinda joint Halloween/Birthday party in the common room for him. Everyone from our year gets invited, and there's food and booze ect..." Lily elaborated

Rolling her eyes and Lily Marleen cut in "So the point that Lily has missed painfully is that we are asking you to help us throw it"

Sitting up straighter in her chair, Luna was intrigued. Of course she knew about the party that the Gryffindor's threw, but having never actually been invited, she didn't actually know what happened at it, so she asked, "What do you want me to do?"
