Once again in the same little shed, you and Eddie got to catch up.
"So all the stuff Dustin said really was true huh?" Eddie asked
"Yeah it absolutely is. Have you never paid attention to the news or any of it?" You questioned
"It's not that I haven't I just mostly stayed away from it because I could never stop wrestling with the reality that it's not just some Dungeons and Dragons campaign only more realistic and deadly. But because it's happening here in our home. If I was in those situations I would of ran. Like I did before." Eddie answered honestly
"I know I've been told to not give into fear. When I was younger learning how to play I did a talent show in the school that I went to over in (state or country). I was supposed to sing and play The Cure's 'Friday, I'm in Love' I had a massive stage fright attack. I ran to hide behind the curtain, my mom who traveled all the way there told me to not let fear get the best of you. So I went back and I sung my hear out. I was stunned by the applause I got." You told while softly laughing about it as you remember it
"You know when it came to my own talent show with our band we had in middle school, Metallica was all the rage and we wanted to see if we could do 'Master of Puppets' let's just say we weren't ready to tackle something this experienced... I kept messing up the notes, I couldn't keep up with the lyrics, Jason tried to time his own notes to mine but it sounded awful. Jason was yelling at me in front of the audience, he destroyed his own drum set until he was put down. Later after some of the security took him, they canceled the rest of the show. When Jason showed up after everyone was leaving the school I told him that if something like this happened again, I'd disband the group. And well look now, we're on our own ways. I never stopped practicing and I played the entire song in front of my uncle and he was proud. He's the only one who seen my talent. If I had my guitar with me I would have played it for you." Eddie told his own story
"Wow. I can't believe that happened... It's good that you never lost sight of your passion." You admired it
"You too Y/N. And you're lucky in a way that you didn't have to put up with bullsh!t members asking if the song was Christian enough, or not too hard to play or if they had to do backup vocals... Ugh I can't believe I let him join in the first place. Hell why he played drums if he was a good Christian boy?!" Eddie replied
"I don't know Eddie... and sometimes I guess some things are best left unanswered." You told
"What were you mostly known as the girl of Y/N?" Eddie asked
"You mean what was I seen as?" You responded
"Yeah like were you the popular, queen of the school, shy, smart girl what?" Eddie asked as he slouched back
"I'm not sure really... I never really paid attention to it." You answered
"Well for me I was sometimes the 'freak' metalhead, emo in a way, I wasn't rude to anyone I just sometimes liked being alone until I had friends of my own." Eddie told
"Hmm... Have you ever gone to the games, homecomings, do they have prom here?" You thought of another question to ask
"Well games... you know I feel about those types of people so obviously no. Homecomings uh... that's a no but it's cause I don't really like the girls that go to this school and I doubt any girl is crushing on me... and for prom, yep they do. It's actually soon too. My uncle has been pushing me to go to it because he said and I qoute 'you'll find a girlfriend there Edward. She'd love that guitar playing of yours' so I'm kinda debating on going." Eddie answered
"Edward? That's your actual name right?" You questioned
"Yep Edward Munson. So you tell me your experiences with all that." Eddie seemed to enjoy the conversation the more it continued
"I've only been to games unless friends invited me, same goes with homecomings although I've never been asked out." You told
"Huh. You know Y/N we're friends right?" Eddie asked
"Yeah what about it?" You answered
"When it comes to proms, it's mostly groups of friends going to it right? Except with the stereotypical lovey dovey couple taking the titles of King and Queen respectively. I mean I seen movies do it all the time." Eddie told
"Yeah... what are you trying to say?" You were a little confused on this
"What I mean is, we can go to the prom as friends. Right? I mean there's nothing wrong with it right? And I know we only just met but I like being around you. It's like your my emotional support. So wanna go to the prom as friends?" Eddie looked to you
"Really? You'd invite me to it? Thanks Eddie! I actually having these talks with you." You gave Eddie a little hug
"Oh. *chuckles* You're welcome Y/N." Eddie reciprocated the hug back to you
"You're warm." You replied softly while also trying to contain your nerves somewhat
"I can tell your heart is racing. Because mine is a little. You don't have to move if you want to stay warm, you looked cold from over there anyways. I could tell you were shuddering a bit. I couldn't tell if you were scared, cold or fearing of something." Eddie answered bitterly honestly
"Oh... thanks again Eddie. I hope I'm not suffocating you." You replied with a hint of hestiant
"No really you're fine! Trust me." Eddie assured as he his breathing slowed, he too was getting sleepy
"All right. *yawns*" You couldn't keep your eyes open for one more second until you fell sound asleep
