Lanyle wasn't going to step down. He had been through ten times the pain he normally would have, even counting the unnecessary death of Skalesha. He felt like he had been tricked, and he wasn't going to take this lying down. He had fought some angels to get to where he was, and had taken a pounding, trying to get him and his sister past the field, but this only strengthened his resolve. Laughter came from inside the west wing of the library. Lanyle recognized the voice. It was Plight's. Torchette, who had reached the library a little before Lanyle, had found herself fighting with the anti fate and not only getting knocked aside, but being held by some strange force.

"Hold it right there.,"Plight said as she showed that she has the ability to kill Torchette at any time she wanted by swords that hovered around Torchette.

"Let her go," Lanyle said as his skin and hair turned white.

"Relax. I only will kill her if you even think about attacking me," Plight said, as she raised her head to drink in the moment.

"Look, I hate to say this, but we are going to wipe the floor with you anyway, so why don't you just give up to save us some time," Torchette said.

"Well, I would say that I would but I am the one winning right now, being that you are my hostage." Lanyle balled up his fists and calmed his anger.

"Let her go," Lanyle finally said.

"Um. No!" Plight said, as she lifted a bottle of wine in her right hand. "You know, you might want to look around. You'd think you'd be happy to be dying in heaven. It really is something that F-8 has given a lot of thought since Truth got fired. My husband really knew the desires of the human heart. F-8 just gives you anything that just pops into your skull. Really, it is a shame that the other fates didn't listen to True. He was a wise fate. In fact, now that I think about it, that was his downfall. He thought he knew everything, and thus he failed."

"You know, you'd think being the fate of truth, you would have all knowledge but that is not truths nature," Plight said as she summons Absiday, who didn't look happy.

Lanyle jumped towards Plight, who captured him in the same force that holds Torchette.

"I swear by the fates, you are going to go down," Lanyle spat as he tried to summon the wind.

He found himself unable to. His skin turned back to its normal peachy color.

"What's going on?" Lanyle said, as he is confused by his lack of ability. Plight laughed as she looked deeply into Lanyles eyes and then snapped as Absiday ran and kneeled beside Plight.

"Would you please be a dear and tell him why I can do this?" Plight said.

"Yes, ma'am," Absiday said as he lowered his head.

"Please tell our friends why he should be so delighted to be in the Foldstrom family," Plight said, as Absiday doesn't like the sound of what's happening.

"You and your family, honored guests of Plight have been previously selected to house the weapon that will abolish all things," Absiday said, then gulps. "The honor of being this weapon has been passed down through the generations of your family and has manifested itself in you, Lanyle."

"Get to the point," Plight said.

Lanyle, still confused, said, "What are you talking about?"

Plight walked over to the frozen Lanyle and puts her finger to his face. "Well, to put it lightly, you and I are related. To drop it into to full view, I would be your twenty times removed grandmother."
