Prompt: Caught in the Rain
Courtney shivered. It was cold. And despite her ever growing love for the tallest Smallbone, she was going to call it quits if he didn't show up in the next 52 seconds.
Luckily for him, he did.
"Coco!"
Yup, he called her Coco.
"Lukey! I thought you would never come."
"How could I miss seeing my best girl?"
She blushed. "Your best girl?'
"Yeah." His voice was soft.
He pulled me into his arms. I snuggled into him, then pulled his head down and ruffled his hair. I enjoyed doing that. And as much as he pretended otherwise, he enjoyed it too.
"So,"I said, releasing from his grasp.
"So,"Luke said, taking my hand.
"You're leaving."
"Yup, Tuesday."
"For the next month."
"For the next month."
"You sound like my grandma's parrot, except she swears more."
"Mrs. Gambolini?"
"The one and only."
"Anyway, uh, I'm gonna miss you when we're gone."
"Me too."
"Coke."
"Mm?"
He reached over and kissed my cheek. "It'll be fine."
"Yeah."
"It's not the first time, won't be the last time."
"Yeah."
I jolted as something wet dropped onto my head.
"Did you feel that?'
"What?"
Suddenly, hundreds of raindrops fell. Within seconds, it was pouring. I laughed.
"Let's go quickly,"Luke said.
I nodded. "Bye, Luke."
"Bye, Coco."
I pressed a kiss onto his cheek and then ran towards my house, giddy despite the cold and rain.
