Chapter sixty!!! Comment on each paragraph for double update tomorrow!
The whole ride back to wherever it was Adnan is taking her was filled with silence. Her head kept banging at what Jibril Shehu had revealed to her after yanking her up the stairs. There is no way the man was lying, it sounded too real and true at the cruelty of the way he was talking. Everything makes more sense when she placed the puzzles together.
When he threw her on the floor, Jannah was crying her eyes out in panic because she's heard what Nadia said to him and what he said back to her. But who are they going to threaten her with that'll make her stay away from her husband? Probably if they threaten to do something to her husbands family, her own don't matter much to her now. She quivered in between frissons, her thought on the fact that she might never see Draco again.
The room upstairs was a bit lighter because of the grey sky outside, it is yet to yaw black and Jibril also turned on the flashlight of his phone. Her mouth was dry caused by her frequent swallowing, she feels itchier than normal. All she wanted to do is regurgitate the breakfast she's had earlier in the morning and she did when she couldn't hold it in. The nausea had been in her since she found out about Jibril Shehu's betrayal.
Turning her head around, she threw up the golden yam she's eaten with egg, baked beans, sausages and spring rolls. After throwing everything out, her mouth tasted somehow but Jibril Shehu only watch her in disgust. He then shrugged his shoulders and removed his chest showing her his broad chest. The man is huge, fighting him is going to be futile with her hands bounded. He closed her mouth with her veil, gagging her.
He hauled his shirt into the darkness and sat down by the window, the wall literally lowered at the weight. What sort of building is this he brought them to? The rain might help in collapsing the already ruined building.
"Do you want to know something no one knows about your husband?" He asked, lighting up a Marlboro brand cigarettes, the most dangerous cigar to have ever existed.
Jannah couldn't say anything but the way he is saying it, she became too curious that she gave a sound of acquiesce. How could she not want to know what her husband is hiding from her knowing he won't ever tell her that with his mouth? Adnan is extremely secretive and mysterious and even if she gets him to confess his obvious feelings for her, his secrets are going to forever stay unknown to her.
Jibril laughed like the Satan himself, it sounded so hollow and sad. "First let me tell you who I am. My name was never Jibril Shehu, I created the name for myself. And you know why? I killed both my parents back in Lagos before coming here to build another life alone."
Jannah's eyes widened in fear, the man is cynical and she is certain he did what he's just said. "But Draco doesn't know that. We have similar pasts and he knows that too, we see it in each other's eyes that we've been through a lot in our home courtesy of our parents. He told me everything about him one day. He never wanted to tell me but I was persistent and I saw a glimpse when I went to his home one day."
She became desperate, her ears perking up like an elves'. She wants to find out what was it that happened to him and his parents? For all she knew, he's always loved his mother and obeys her like any obedient child would. She is the only person he listens to while his father on the other hand died way before she got married to Adnan. Hajiya Maimuna talks about him once in a while but not much.
"His daddy used to fuck him." He grinned darkly, lulling his head from side to side as he cracked up.
Jannah could only frown at him, she's got no idea what the man is talking about. Adnan's father used to beat him? Well, most fathers do beat their children once in a while, especially the boys because they never hear word. It's not like they are in America or anything, fathers have those rights over here to-
