Chapter 2 Canines

We had ran for 12 hours straight never stopping always running. We finally reached a clearing that had a steam running through it we both set our bags down and began lapping up the water. We heard a noise coming from the tree line. We flipped around, I snarled and Lilly got into a defensive crouch baring her elongated fangs. A gray husky emerged (http://www.vetstreet.com/dogs/siberian-husky) "who are you?" He asked looking at us cautiously.

I looked at Lilly and she gave me a slight nod, "My name is Sapphire and this is Lilly." I stated raising my head and body to show my dominance. He recognized this and growled I hissed back we began circling each other, I noticed his muscles coil right before he leapt, I moved and he landed next to me in a pile I jump on him back sinking my claws into his shoulders for purchase he snarled and attempted to throw me off but I remembered my training and held on using my front and back claws I gripped his throat in my mouth and he submitted to me, i jumped off his back we were both panting heavenly blood stained his coat on his shoulders, "Where did you learn to fight like that?" He asked looking at me curiously. "My father and personal guards." I said I felt and ache in my chest at the thought of him, Lilly came up to my side rubbing against me in a comforting way. I looked at her gratefully. "Wait you said your name was Sapphire correct?" He asked sitting on his haunches. I nodded. He gasped, "you the princess of the cats aren't you?"

"It's felines not cats." Lilly said glaring.

I laughed, "yes I am and who might you be?"

"Names Justin." He said puffing out his chest.

I looked at Lilly and whispered, "where have I heard that name before?"

"Isn't he the johtaja son?" She asked.

I nodded, "Yeah that's where I've heard that I wonder if they'd be willing to help." I said she looked at me, "it's worth a shot." She said we turned back around and looked at Justin. "We need to speak to your father." I said. He nodded and we headed off to meet the johtaja of all canines.
