Chapter 15 The Truth Comes Out

"Justin will you come here please." I said once we got back.

He looked at me curiously, "Sure Sapp."

We walked away from the crowds and out into the woods I looked around and made sure we were alone I folded my arms and leaned my shoulder against a tree. "When Leon and I went to the castle we learned how they were going to destroy us...."

"And how does this have to do with me?" He asked.

"Your father is going to try to convince you to betray us." I whispered softly.

"What?!" He exclaimed, "I knew he was a bad man but not this bad....my own father wants me to Bertha my kind, everything I love?"

"I'm sorry Justin I wish this wasn't true but it is." I said softly pushing myself away from the tree and pulling him into a hug. He hugged me back I could feel him shuttering against me. I pulled away and noticed his eyes were red rimmed, "Justin he cannot under any circumstances find the refuge, I have removed the sentries so the entrance can't be found now it's up to you to keep everyone safe until the war. I'll let you decide what to do I hope it's the right thing." I placed my hand on his shoulder. He bowed his head and sighed heavily, I turned around and walked back to the cave. I saw Embry waiting for me, "Your majesty they are ready," he said softly.

I nodded and looked at my pe!ople the women, children and elders had packs on I noticed the females and shifted and had been fitted with battle armor, the males and females knew how to fight but females had more of a protective instinct than males so we paired them with the children and elders.

"Wait until night falls and than move out." I replied he nodded. And shifted.

"My people I am so proud you all, I'm sorry I'm not the best Queen, I'm sure many of you thought I abandoned you and I'm so sorry, but I knew we needed help and so I went out and found it, we are now allied forever with the avians and reptiles, sadly, the canines have betrayed our kind their leader has allied himself with the hunters and they can't go against him, so don't kill them just stop them. I can't promise you will all survive, but I can promise your sacrifice will not be in vein, everyone get ready we attack at dawn!"
