Chapter 12 How to Gather an Army

I nodded at Lilly I knew we wouldn't see each other for awhile, we hugged and I glared at Cas, "Keep her safe."

He nodded, "I will."

I turned around and looked at Kyle, "Keep them safe." I whispered as I hugged him.

"Don't worry be careful Sapp." He whispered back.

I smiled and pulled away, I stripped from my sports bra and shorts and shifted into my snow leopard, Leon shifted into his lion and I looked at Muse and Justin who nodded, "Well meet at the edge of the feline territory on a week." I stated as we all gathered one last time, they all nodded and Muse flapped her wings taking off, we went out separate ways each knowing what the other had to do hoping everyone stayed safe. I sighed what were we getting into?

I growled, "WOULD YOU TWO SHUT UP!"

Cas and Kyle stared at me eyes wide, they had been fighting ever since we said goodbye to Sapphire. "Sorry," they mumbled.

I huffed and kept walking flicking my ears back and forth listening for danger we were almost to the felines territory. I noticed sentries, "Halt who goes there?" The white lion asked with a snarl.

I held my head high, "Lilly Jones, Queen Sapphire's adviser."

The looked at me with surprise, "Lilly?"

I nodded they shifted and pulled on shorts quickly they bowed deeply and gestured for us to follow we followed them to the underground fail safe, hundreds of years ago our ancestors built an underground city in case something like this happened, everyone perked with excitement when they saw me, but I saw shoulders slump when they realized Sapphire wasn't with me, Cas and Kyle nodded to me encouraging, "My fellow felines I'm sure you're wondering where Queen Sapphire is,"

There was a soft murmur of agreement.

"But I can assure you she is safe she has made a pact with the reptilians and is on her way to make a pact with the avians, we plan on reclaiming the territory and permanently eliminate the threat of the hunters. So I ask who's willing to stand with your Queen to reclaim our home and protect our future as a race?!" I bellowed out.

There was a moment of silence as cheers erupted through the crowd, I noticed hope shining in their eyes, I just hoped it was enough for us to end this war that has been fought since shifters first appeared thousands of years ago.

The elder held up the knife that looked similar to the reptiles the only difference was there were avians carved into the handle and the blade was white fire opal.

"This vow will bind the two clams forever and always, it will be there in times of wealth and poverty, war and peace. Good and bad. As our leaders join so do clans we will forever be tied to the ground and them the sky. Do you Queen Sapphire of the felines take this bond?" I looked out over the crowd and saw hope glimmering in their eyes, every shifter wanted the hunters eliminated. I looked into Jackson's green eyes, "I promise as queen of the felines to stand by the avians."

"Do you Glavni Jackson of the avians promise to take this bond?" The elder asked

"I promise as Glavni to the avians to stand by the felines." He said looking into my grey eyes. We each held up our palms the the elder drew the blade down our plans I now had two scars the one from the reptilians and now one from the avians this showed our bond and it would never fade as long as there was breath in my body. We placed our palms together allowing our blood to mix, Jackson's pupils slitted like a cats and I knew my pupil expanded to match an avians. I now had enough help to stop the hunters and save my people's future. I smiled at Leon as Jackson lead us to the main house. Muse smiled at me as she and Justin followed Jackson to his office Leon and I headed up to our room that we were staying in. I shut the door and Leon smiled and kissed me softly, "I'm so proud of you Sapphire your parents would have been so proud of you and all that you've done." I smiled and kissed him gently. His arms tightened around me and he deepened the kiss, I smiled as I opened my mouth willingly. My hands danced across the buttons of his shirt as he moaned softly. I kissed his neck as I showed him just how much I loved him.

"Lilly, are you alright?" Kyle asked as I sighed heavily.

I nodded, "Yes I'm just worried about Sapphire, she's had a lot thrown at her and Ive known her since we were cubs I can see the strain this is putting on her, I hope Leon will help her, like Cas has helped me."

"She'll be fine she is strong and she has you, me, Justin, Muse, Leon and Cas to help her." He replied placing a hand on my shoulder. I nodded and stood I needed to speak with Jasper, the head of the guard. I walked to the entrance and noticed Cas and Jasper already talking jasper was glaring angrily, I hid behind a stalactite and listened in, "No Cas you are not trusted." Jasper ground out.

"What do you mean not trusted?" Cas snapped back.

"I mean you are the reason myself and the guard failed to protect the royals." He snarled his eyes changing to cat.

"I had no choice in that matter and every single days since then I regret it if I could I'd go back and change it but the fact remains I can't." Cas snapped in reply.

"Why are you disrespecting my mate?" I asked walking up to them with my hands on my hips.

"Nothing advisor, Cas and I just had a disagreement is all." Jasper said glaring at Cas.

I raised my eyebrow and snarled, "That's sure as hell not what it sounded like Jasper, it wasn't his or anyone's fault but that monsters now stop fighting with each other and focus on getting ready for this war." I turned heel and walked outside shifting into my tiger as I went.

I woke up and snuggled deeper into Leon's chest I purred softly. I laughed when he grumbled, "go back to sleep."

I leaned up on my elbow, "that's not what you were saying last night."

He opened his eyes, "that's because you are so tempting." He said with a low rumble.

I rolled my eyes and stood up, "we have to go home."

He groaned and fell back on the bed. I laughed and headed for the shower.

*several hours later*

"Sapphire I'm sending my warriors with you and my people are going to the oracle to keep them safe I suggest you do the same with yours." Jackson said hugging me.

I nodded, "thank you Jackson for everything."

I shifted and looked at the warriors shifting restlessly. I let out a roar and they all shrieked in reply shifting into their avians. Leon shifted as well and we all headed to my home.

I began pacing impatiently Sapphire was suppose to be coming today I could tell the sentries were on edge as well. I saw birds in the distance and knew they were almost here. Suddenly I was tackled to the ground.

"Sapphire get your fat butt off me!" I yelled as I glared at her.

She smirked and climbed off of me, the sentries bowed deeply, "you're majesty it's great to see you." The white lion said.

"Thank you Peter, now lets go gather an army and show hunters what happens when you piss off people that can shift." Sapphire said with a snarl.
