Chapter 4 Oracle

Lilly, Justin and I looked at each other in surprise Muse just laughed at our shocked looks.

"Expecting?" Justin asked.

Jackson nodded, "You must travel to the oracle before the end of the week. Muse knows the way." With that he turned and walked away. I shared a look with Lilly she nodded slightly. "Alright Muse lead the way." I said gesturing in no particular direction. She nodded and shifted into her harpy eagle and flapped her powerful wings taking off Lilly and i smiled I shifted into my clouded leopard as Lilly shifted into her albino tiger, Justin shifted into a wolf and we began to lope after her.

4 hours later

We stopped to rest for the night when Muse landed her and Justin began to have a heated augment. Lilly and I looked at each other shifted and climbed the tree. We crouched quietly listening.

"No I will never be with someone like you!" Muse yelled.

"We are made to be together!" Justin countered.

"Never! your species is the reason why I'm orphaned." Muse cried out

That made Justin pause, "Wait what?"

Muse had tears streaming down her face, "That thing you call a father had my parents murdered just so he could sell their feathers and claws to hunters!"

Lilly and I looked at each other shocked nor wonder he wouldn't help us. He worked for those things that call themselves humans. Justin looked at her surprised, "What do you mean?"

"How can I make myself more clear?" Muse asked her voice strained with holding back more tears, "I am an orphan because your father loves money."

Lilly and I climbed down the tree and shifted and quickly pulled our clothes on and sat down like we hadn't heard the initmate converstion, I thought back to my mate and how it felt to be in his arms, I wondered if he was alright and if he was safe I knew he wasn't gone or else I would've died as well . Each species of shiftes is differnt with mates, and very rarely do mates of diffrent spicies cross when they do it is for a very special reason, that's why I was wondering why Muse and Justin were mates. I remembered the story my father told me when we were walking through the woods and he was showing me the in's and out's of ruling.

*Flashback*

"Sapphire, has Mother told you about mates yet?" my father asked as we lept down from the tree we were sitting on. I shook my head jumping down next to him landing on my paws.

"Of course she didn't." he mumbled

I laughed, we walked towards the boarder and right before we reached it father spoke, "When the felines meet their mates it's magical the world stops and you focus souley on them, also when our cats recognize each other they will be able to identify each other no matter what. Also when one of them dies the other follows suit, our God Hu wanted to make sure mates were always together forever. Now the canies are diffrent, in order for them to be attached to each other is through marks they bite their mates for their canies to join together, also if one mate dies the other can survive but in very rare cases does that happen. The aviens are diffrent they are like us but if one dies the other will live, and their birds don't join until they mate in their animal forms. The reptilians are diffrent no one really knows how they mate they keep to themselves."

"So what happenes when your mate is from a diffrent species?" I asked looking at my father

"Well it depends on the species."

"Oh so if my mate was a canie?"

"Then if he died so would you but you would mark each other like they do." he said
