Chapter 17 War

I slipped my cuffs on and asked Leon to lace them up, he looked grim as he did, I kissed his cheek softly, "We'll be fine I promise."

"I know, but Sapphire I can't lose you already," he said grabbing my hips. I leaned my head on his chest. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head I sighed and shifted into my leopard as Leon shifted into his lion, I walked out and looked at the warriors.

"I can not promise you will survive, but I can promise your sacrifice will not be in vain, today we are going to gain freedom for our children and our children's children!" I had a series of roars, howls shrieks and hisses, follow my speech. Leon and I jumped down the crowd split and we trotted to the front Cas, Kyle and Justin were waiting for me I nodded to them and they all went to the group we had put them with, I turned and looked over them one last time, I turned back around and roared. I had a series of yells as everyone shifted. We all moved out, I trotted towards my home, ready to take it back.

I snarled, as I noticed hunters lined in front of the gate.

Standing at the head was leader of he hunters, "Well well if it isn't the pussy cat come home." He goaded.

I growled low in my throat, "If it isn't a dead man walking."

"Feisty aren't ya, I think I'll have a new play thing when this is over." He said sweetly.

I roared and charged I heard a mixtures of cries as the rest followed behind. We clashed and clashed hard, I don't know where the leader went all I focused on was the hunter under my claws. I snarled as I ripped his throat out. Blood coated my muzzle and paws. I jumped over the fallen hunters body and attacked another. The sounds of cries from shifters and hunters alike filled the air along with the clanking of armor and the clicks of guns. I snarled viciously as a bulled buried itself in the fleshy part of my shoulder I found the one that shot me, the leader. I lunged and he side stepped, we circled each other looking for one another's weak points. He feigned left and struck, I growled when I felt it slice along my shoulder. I felt wetness mat down my fur. I didn't look just lunged at him. My claws raked down his face. He bellowed in pain and I bared my fangs.

"You stupid bitch you'll pay for this!" He yelled lunging once again I snarled and met him half way our bodies slamming together. I felt the knife in his hand sink into my side. I groaned, and sank my fangs into his shoulder and dug my claws into his sides. He gave an animalistic shriek and I pulled away he fell backwards exposing his stomach and neck. I pounced and ripped out his throat. I looked up at the other hunters and bared my fangs snarling.

"Surrender and live or keep fighting and suffer the same fate." I bellowed.

Slowly one by one they laid down their weapons and dropped to their knees. The other shifters around me shifted back and quickly grabbed them before they could change their minds. I smiled in triumph, then everything went black.
