"What's wrong?" Matsuda asked as you entered the room. He was concerned for your well-being because of the erratic way you stumbled through the doorway like a zombie.
You rubbed your half-closed eyes and yawned, stretching one arm up. "Yeah, I'm fine. I don't need a death insurance on my fire."
The black haired man tilted his head in confusion as your answer to his question didn't make sense. The Kira Task Force then watched as you walked into a wall and apologized to it. Everyone deadpanned.
"Ms. L/N, you don't seem to be well rested. I suggest taking the day off. There's no shame in taking a break." L advised. "We wouldn't want your health to be compromised."
"No!" You shake your head, saying that louder than you intended. Clearing your throat, you say again. "I mean, I'm perfectly fine. I'm just tired. Besides, you don't sleep much yourself. I can do just as much work as anyone else here."
"Ryuzaki is right. Your health is more important than getting your paperwork finished." The eldest Yagami set down a pile of papers on the table. "You should go back home, but the only problem is I am afraid someone will try to take advantage of you in this state."
"I volunteer!" Matsuda said enthusiastically, pumping his hand in the air like an anime character. "Don't worry Y/N, I can protect you like superman!"
"Huh? Don't joke around Matsuda." Aizawa brutally gives him a reality check. "If you think you can be superman, then go get me a new coffee."
He pushed a half-empty ceramic mug to the younger man who had taken a massive ego crush.
"I appreciate the thought but I want to stay." You affirm, taking a seat on the couch. Leaning forward to grab a laptop, a well manicured hand snatches it out of yours.
"Y/N." Light disapprovingly says.
"Light." You lean across the table in an attempt to take the sleek, black laptop back but you suddenly lose your small sap of energy and slump in your seat. He set the laptop back on the round coffee table and looked at you with concern.
"You can't even stand up. What happened?"
You frowned. Was your state really that horrible?
Admitting your defeat, you sighed, placing a hand over your face. "I had to run around the whole city twice this week."
"Is there a reason for that other than exercise?" L ponders from in his chair. His feet were rested on the edge of his seat and his back was hunched.
Puffing the left side of your mouth with your tongue, you try to figure out a way to phrase your sentence without worrying them of your personal problems. Leaning your head down, you say the thing that had been plaguing you.
"I think I'm being stalked."
The result was instantaneous. Immediately, the room erupted with rapid questions being fired like cannons.
"Who do I need to beat up!" Aizawa hotheadedly asks, his temper getting the better of him. The chief didn't reprimand him because he too had an angry expression on his face.
"Looks like I need to bury a body." Matsuda solemnly said with the utmost concentration.
Lights face stayed neutral but his eyes registered shock. The detective glanced quickly at him before his eyes locked on you.
Feeling defensive, you wave your hands with the little energy you could muster. "It's not that serious! You don't need to overreact."
"Some perverted guy is stalking you!" Matsuda responds indignantly, waving his arms like a bird. "Of course we're going to act this way! Right guys?"
