"What I'm getting is, you know the identity of Kira but you can't do anything about it?"

"It's not that simple."

L affirmed, spinning the contents of his sugary tea.

Rubbing your fingers on your temples, you sighed. Turning your head to look out the window, you attempt to recollect your thoughts, not noticing a pair of obsidian eyes on you.

"So, this 'Light' Yagami. He's a model student, goes to the University of Tokyo and is perfect in virtually every way?" You asked after looking over your notes.

L frowned slightly. No one else could tell the subtle way his eyes seemed more downcast but you, who had been working for him as his therapist for over 3 years, could notice easily. "I wouldn't say he's perfect. There's a sense of superiority surrounding him and although he chooses his dialogue carefully, you can see it clear as day."

"Yeah, yeah." You waved your hand, brushing what he had said off. "Got it."

The past few months of his sessions included L throwing snide remarks about Light. You were done with all this Light slander because it was always the same thing. Jabs about his handsomeness was said and subtle compliments to you were brought up. You were surprised however, when today, he had admitted having suspicions of the 19 year old being a mass murderer.

Pretending to write by drawing L, you kept a stone cold face.

"You say he's Kira?" You sketch out Ls messy, raven hair, shading it in and adding hatch marks.

"There's about a 95% probability." L confides in you, who already is familiar with his true numbering system.

Continuing your side task, you continue to question him. "Did you confront him about it?"

Already suspecting an answer, you weren't surprised when he said, "Multiple times. I chose an offensive tactic to force him out of hiding by saying outright that he was under suspicion of being Kira."

"How did he react?"

L frowned deeper when he realized you weren't taking your eyes off your notepad. Suppressing his desire to tear it up, he answered when you had asked him again.

"He acted coolly, like he had rehearsed an answer multiple times." Putting a thumb on his lip, he thought further. "A mask was obviously being used, but his eyes couldn't hide things, especially the secrets he was keeping. His room was bugged but his behaviour seemed to be too innocent for the actions he had taken."

While L was concisely stating all the reasons why Light was Kira, you were continuing to draw the detective. Your pen was running smoothly across the lined paper where a half complete portrait was drawn.

Now, all you needed to draw was Ls actual face. You glanced up to get a good look at the still talking man. You wanted to memorize everything so you could get the drawing done perfectly. So attentive to get all the details right, you didn't realize L had stopped talking until he called your name.

"Sorry, I was lost in thought for a second." You shake your head slightly to apologize for zoning out.

"Are you perhaps distracted?" L plainly asks, a corner of his lip quirked up.

"Not at all." You equally plainly dismiss him.

"Are you sure?" He asks, not willing the amusing topic to be let go that fast, a smirk subtly displaced on his face. "It seems that you have been staring intently at my face."

"A face that doesn't receive much sleep. Have you been taking the supplements I recommended?" You swiftly evade his question with another question.

Staring at him with disapproval when he shook no, you took out a piece of paper and wrote a note.
