You sat at the fancy white clothed table, looking around at all the other couples at the crowded restaurant. It was evening, the last of the bright sun rays shining down from the rooftop, illuminating your H/C hair with a tinge of orange. There was a buzzing in the air, and you didn't know if it was it because of the vibrant energy of the people or the harbinger of a warning.

Aimlessly, your gaze looked down from the balcony, watching the copious amount of people peer into a tech stores window, looking at the news of more Kira news.

Kira... the mass murderer responsible for killing hundreds, if not thousands, of criminals. You weren't sure who they were, but you didn't align with their values and morals. If they killed someone who was innocent, there was no bringing that person back. They would be gone, forever, with no one to mourn them but their family.

Your heart dropped slightly, and you took a sharp inhale at the memory. Your father, you remembered mournfully. He had barely spent a night in prison after getting wrongfully framed when he died of a heart attack. Why couldn't only the bad ones die? That was the flaw with Kira.

You didn't even crave vengeance. How could you when you didn't even know how Kira operated. All you could do was express your disdain for said being and support L.

Sighing, you leaned your head against your palm, your elbow on the table as you waited for your food to arrive, still deep in thought.

"Is something wrong?" A voice asked, jolting you back to reality.

You didn't even glance back at your dinner date, your E/C eyes only focusing on the pot of flowers behind him. "No, everything's alright."

Light slightly frowned. It was clear to him that you weren't fine by the slight crease of your brows and your constant zoning out. "You don't seem like you're fine. You aren't even looking at me."

Forcing our eyes to meet him, you smile tensely. "I am, now."

His eyes studied yours. The intensity was enough to have your skin crawling, despite having 6 months in your relationship to get used to the same scrutinizing feeling. Reaching across the table, he took your hand gently.

"Y/N," He exhaled softly, your name like a fresh breath of air. "We've been together for a long time, and I've been thinking about us."

His thumb caressed the skin of your hand, his warmth like the summer sun. As his action, you couldn't help but grimace. Earlier, it would've been amazing to realize that the Light Yagami was into you, but now, you felt indifferent to it and all the affection he'd been showering you with.

At hearing those words, you licked your dry lips, your gaze going down to your clasped hands. "As a matter-of-fact, I've been thinking about us, too."

He broke out into a grin. "That makes things easier."

Just then, a waiter arrived at your table, placing down your ordered meals. You separated your hand from Lights, bringing it back to your side. As your warmth left his loose grasp, he pouted, disappointed he couldn't touch you more.

Picking up a fancy fork, you picked at your pasta absentmindedly, starting to space out again. Light noticed, smiling faintly, finding your expression cute. Playfully, he waved a hand a few inches away from your face.

"Earth to Y/N." He joked, snapping his fingers. "Have the aliens already gotten to you?"

Jolting at the sudden action, you blinked twice. Subtly, you shifted back in your seat, slightly leaning away. Light noticed, but said nothing further.

"I must've zoned out." You muttered.

"It's alright." Light smiled. "I'm sure you must have a lot on your plate."
