"Arriving soon at Honolulu, Hawaii. The time is 1:13pm. Please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for descent."
Bleary eyes blinked open as the announcement woke you. It was dark. Confusion laced your groggy brain as you sat up slowly. Something clicked in your head and you felt your face, feeling the brim of a hat in your fingers and lifting it up. The brightness of Hawaii's afternoon sun greeted you and you turned to your right. Penguin had reclined his seat a little and was asleep as well, but his hat was gone.
So that's what was sitting on your head. You'd only been able to gaze at him once with his hat lifted, but seeing him with it completely off was something very new for you. His dark oak hair was a little messy and softening out at the nape of his neck, your view sweeping across closed eyes with thick lashes. He had elegant thin eyebrows like Law and a very slight bump on the bridge of his nose. A small mole accented his face just below his left eye and somehow you found it really suited him. Your eyes focused on his slightly parted lips and your heart fluttered. Their gentle pink hue against snowy white skin; a soft gust of air that escaped them with the rise and fall of his chest as he slept. How beautifully his features would look photographed, but more so, how badly you wanted to lean in and kiss them. It would be so easy to wake him with a sweet brush on the mouth, but you resisted the urge. Especially with the sudden strange sensation you were feeling.
You looked up, a little alarmed and looked across the other passengers. A few seats up, across the aisle, Law was watching you intently with those intimidating steel gray eyes. You couldn't read the expression on his face; he seemed to be just observing for now. The butterflies in your stomach harassed you and you were suddenly so glad you hadn't acted on impulse. You dared give him a wave and Law just flicked his eyebrows up and down once before he was distracted by his fiance.
A tiny breath of air escaped you that you didn't realize you'd been holding in. That was a little scary. You turned your attention back to Penguin as the second call for seat belts came through the PA system. You hated to wake him; he looked so at peace, but you didn't want anything to happen to him either.
"Penguin." You called his name gently and tapped his chest with your fingertips. "Penguin, wake up. We're arriving. You have to put your seatbelt on."
Jade eyes wearily fluttered open and focused on you. "Alright, blossom." His low rumbling voice expressed he was still half asleep.
Your face flushed instantly from his pet name. Shachi had been so much more open about calling you 'sweetness', you had no idea that Penguin had already picked one for you himself. "P-Penguin?"
It took a minute, but somewhere in Penguin's muddied sleepy thoughts, something fully clicked and his eyes flew open. You watched his entire face turn a deep red and he reached for his hat brim, only to remember it was on your head. That didn't help his flustering anymore, he looked ready to pass away.
"I-I'm up. I'm up." He stammered and busied himself with the seat belt as quickly as possible. He finished and turned to you. The blush hadn't left his face. "I...uh... (Y/n), I need a minute."
You blinked in shock when he pulled the brim of his hat back down over your eyes. He was flustered more than any guy you'd ever flirted with and you couldn't help but smile at his reaction. Penguin truly was the cutest.
"I think blossom is one of the sweetest names anyone's ever nicknamed me." You hummed, but you left the hat over your eyes. You were worried if you said that and locked eyes with him, he would go into cardiac arrest.
"(Y/n), please." Penguin practically begged. His voice sounded muffled and shaken, he probably had his face buried in his hands. "God, you...make me so nervous."
