Chapter 14 💜

They headed to the cafeteria and found their seats. The girls sitting beside each other in front of Lena is Jay and Amara is Luke.

"Hey, you were both great presenting all alone. I didn't expect that!" Luke said

"Thanks!" Amara said

"You were also great at presenting with your partners." Amara complimented

"It was my partner who did everything." Luke said

"Says the person that got complimented by Ma'am Varela of how he delivered his summary with feelings hahahahaha!" Amara stated

"How about a certain someone who chose a topic about toxic relationship hmmmm." Luke said

"Oh, and your summary was great Jay, I even thought you were staring at me cause your gaze was really near hahahahaha!" Amara said changing the topic.

"Wait really?" Luke asked in shocked

"Yeah, in the last part of his summary his head started to change direction but maybe it's my imagination right Lena?" Amara asked

"Y-yeah" Lena replied

"You should hurry and eat before classes start you need to be full for later." Jay said

"Oh yeah!" Amara stated

After a few minutes they finished eating and returned to class after a couple hours. Classes were finished, and it was time to go home.

"Now you have to explain to me what happened to you?" Lena asked

"I know let's talk on the rooftop. I'll just go to Mrs. Varela really quick for the task deal?" Amara said

"Deal but hurry ok!" Lena said while Amara finished packing and left the room

"Yeah!" Amara said waving her hands and heading to Mrs. Varela's office

With that Lena went straight ahead to the rooftop.

Amara arrived at the office and because Mrs. Varela was still not in the office she sat down on a chair. After a few minutes Mrs. Varela then entered the office.

"Good afternoon, Ma'am." Amara greeted

"Hello Ms. Abad." Mrs. Varela said while sitting down on her chair

"Now you may ask why I called you here." Mrs. Varela added

Amara nodded

"Don't worry I just want you to give these papers to your partner Mr. Gonzales because he was absent, he must pass me an excuse letter and as his partner you are responsible for this task." Mrs. Varela said

"But I don't know where he lives." Amara stated

"That's not a problem, I have all of your information with me... Just a second... Here is his address so you can give these papers to him." Mrs. Varela said

Amara was silent she had no choice but to go to Gerald's house and with that thought she became nervous

"Is there a problem?" Mrs. Varela asked

"U-ummm..." Amara could answer

"You don't need to answer if you don't want to." Mrs. Varela said

There was silence for a few seconds.

"Can I ask you a question Ma'am?" Amara asked

"Of course." Mrs. Varela answered

"How did you make the partners for the activity Ma'am?" Amara questioned

"From your answers." Mrs. Varela replied

"Huh?" Amara asked in confusion

"Remember when I asked you to tell me about your perspective in the picture in the first meeting?" Mrs. Varela asked

Amara nodded

"Based on your answers it became my guide to your partners. I wanted to partner people with contradicting ideas because in a world there will be people with a different perspective, different experience, and different thoughts for example love, some may say it is the sweetest and best thing in the world while other may say it is the most painful thing and you can't disagree because maybe their past with love wasn't as sweet as you think which is why they were able to say that same as this activity a painting can have different meaning depending on who is looking at it." Mrs. Varela explained

Amara's face became sad regretting her actions because she then realized maybe she was too harsh to him. She didn't know anything about Gerald's past to do such actions.

"But don't fret. It is true that opposing opinions can start an argument but as a human we are open minded. We must see things in a bigger picture because like a coin it has 2 sides, and each side makes up a coin same as opinions." Mrs. Varela added with a smile

"Thank you, Mrs. Varela." Amara said

Mrs. Varela nodded with that Amara stood up, bowed and left the office.
