Part 3: Does it know no end?

***Author's note*** Touya is referred to as Todoroki because Aiko isn't close enough to call him by his first name. Also, don't fight me on how to spell his name because we're both right. I just like this spelling more. XD   *T/W*     

           You sit by the pond using it as a mirror to see yourself as you scrub the blood off of your face. Todoroki sits quietly next to you throwing stones in the water. You look at him from the corner of your eye.

"Hey Todoroki?"

"Hm."

"Why are you here?"

His captivating eyes shift over to you.

"I'd come by from time to time. You just happened to be here this time. Did, did you ever come back?"

I look back at the water watching the ripples disturb the surface.

"Didn't know where I was for a while. Ended up down in Kamino Ward at some point. I was trying to stay unnoticed so I'd only travel at night. Managed to find my way back to this part of town after a while. I, try to avoid people these days."

"Cause of the Black Ice Villain?"

"You know about her?"

"Yeah, my father is in a rage about the whole thing."

"Your father?"

"Endeavor."

You slowly stand up trying not to make any odd movements. His eyes follow you closely as you casually move away. Oh no, a hero's son? I can't be around him, he'll turn me in. He stands up, walking towards you.

"I've uh, got to go."

"It's you isn't it?"

"What are you talking about?"

"You're the Black Ice Villain."

"What? What are you talking about?"

"Did you snap and kill your family?"

"What!? I would never."

"They said it had to be someone close to the family. I guess they didn't look close enough."

"I DIDN'T KILL THEM!"

You lose control and end up shooting ice from your hand. Todoroki dodges quickly before tackling you to the ground. His hand is around your throat, squeezing lightly.

"Caught you little mouse."

"Let me go!"

You freak out causing ice spikes to surround you, several stabbing Todoroki. He grunts slightly before setting fire to everything. The ice slowly melts away as he continues to stare at you. A dangerous look flashes in his eyes. You gasp out as you try to pry his fingers off your throat.

"You, you survived?"

"So you're just a dumb kid who can't control her quirk? You freak out and kill your family?"

"I didn't kill them!"

You start sobbing, giving up on trying to fight Todoroki. He lets go of your throat getting off of you. 

"Don't flip out anymore, I'll just end up burning more of your clothes."

You look down noticing you weren't warm because of the jacket but Todoroki's flames. Todoroki looks at you curiously.

"Ha, isn't that funny? Someone immune to your ice, someone immune to my fire. And just like me, your quirk is slowly killing you." 

          You look at him, noticing his arms were covered in burns. You sit up slowly reaching out to him.  You place your hand on his arm concentrating with all your might. A thin layer of ice covers his burns cooling them. 

"You set me on fire."

"I could feel your skin getting colder."

"Why save me?"

He looks away a slight pink tone appearing on his cheeks.

"Prove to myself, maybe I'm not so useless."

4 years later...

          He was an amazing person, one of the kindest you'd ever met. He took you in helping you survive. He became your best friend, and despite the troubles of his household he never lost that beautiful smile of his. You knew things were getting worse, he was slowly losing his way. He ended up being replaced by his youngest brother Shoto. You did your best to keep Touya from drowning in his head. But no matter what you did he seemed to slip farther and farther away.

          You sit in the backyard with Fuyumi and Shoto. Their father was out that day so you were able to sneak in and play with them. Shoto reminded you of Tenko a bit, the way he carried a terrible sadness deep within. He throws a ball at you, which you swipe out of the air throwing it back. It hits him in the chest causing him to fall down in a fit of laughter. He looks at you with a huge toothy grin.

"You're so fast Aiko. I hope I can be cool like you one day."

"Oh, Shoto you're gonna be way cooler than me."

"Really?"

"Really."

You smile softly at him ruffling his hair and teasing him. As he attempts to tackle you to the ground Natsou comes out of the back door looking worried. You look at him furrowing your brow.

"What's wrong."

"It's Touya, he's going off the deep end again."

You sigh and look down at Shoto hiding your sadness. You scoop him up throwing him over your shoulder and spinning around. He shouts with glee as you put him back down.

"Again! Again!"

"I can't I have to go talk to your brother."

He looks at the ground grumpily and kicks the dirt.

"Touya doesn't like me."

You crouch down meeting his multi-colored eyes. 

"He's just hurting right now. He doesn't hate you, don't ever think that ok?"

"Ok."

You ruffle his hair and give him a big hug before standing back up. You look back at Natsuo keeping your voice normal.

"He go to the cabin?"

Natsuo nods quietly, worry all over his face. You nod to him and leave the house refusing to look behind you. You had a horrible feeling you would never see them again. 

          You see the smoke rising from the woods over the hill. You run as fast as you can tripping up the hill and tumbling down the other side. You whip your head up and see the bright blue flames rising from the building.

"Oh no."

You whisper out softly staring at the beautiful blue flames amazed. He did it, he finally did it, but at what cost? You get up running straight into the burning building. The flames lick your arms warming them nearly to the point of pain. 

"Touya! Touya!"

You shout out coughing as the smoke chokes you and burns your eyes. You hear a crack and see a huge beam come swinging down right at you. You step back tripping over a heap on the floor. You get distracted noticing it's Touya and the edge of the burning beam hits you in the face. You fall down crying out at the pain now unable to see out of your left eye. You ignore it and pull the burning wood off of Touya. You move him over to see if he's alive and his jaw falls off. You scream, trying to put his jaw back on.

"Touya! Touya please open your eyes. Please, please don't die on me!"

You sob as you pull him out of the burning cabin. You hear him wheezing weakly, his eyes slowly opening. Tears come streaming down his severely burned face.

"Oh Touya, oh what did you do?"

          You pick him up carrying him up the hill to the city. There was a safe house you knew of that you could take him to. You refused to take him back to that house. Their father had pushed him too far, then just gave up on him. He felt worthless like he had no value.

"Touya if you can hear me. I am not going to give up on you. You hear me, I won't!"
