Part 21: Every bird can fly

          You explore the back half of the ward the apartment building was in. Most of the area was abandoned so finding a place would be safer and easier than some of the other wards. You guys come across a small playground with a large pond next to it. The power was out so the street lamps were all dark.
          You look around scouting to see if anyone was around. You pull on your hood and mask just in case someone comes by. You put your hand out and create a large spike of ice. You use your quirk to make the spike fly around. An idea pops into your head causing you to smile. You put on your gloves and call the ice over to you. You grab it and hold tight as you move the ice up into the air. You squeak with excitement as you watch the ground shrink below you. You dissolve the ice into snowflakes and drop into freefall. You create another piece of ice in your hand and hold on moving the ice up slightly. You slow your fall carefully so you don't rip your shoulder out of its socket. You let go dropping to your feet in front of Dabi. You look at him excitedly as you jump up and down.

"I can fucking fly!"

Dabi smirks as he leans on the closest streetlamp. You look at your jacket wondering if that was enough to turn it white. It was still jet black which made you even more excited. You take a deep breath and look at Dabi.

"I'm going to try making a blizzard. I don't know what will happen if you're caught up in it.

"It's fine, just go all out."

           You close your eyes and create a huge storm of small snowflakes. You open your eyes watching the flurry of snow fly around you. You smile as you look around noticing you can feel every single piece. Not only that but you could tell when they disappeared. You close your eyes and envision surrounding Dabi with the snow. You open your eyes and notice none of the snow was touching him, it was just swirling around him. He looks around surprised before looking back at you.

"How did you do that? You weren't looking at me."

You smile as you disperse the snow watching the small snowflakes float around you and slowly disappear.

"I can feel my ice, it seems my ability to move it also means I know where it is at all times."

He looks at you impressed and stands up walking over to you. He sets you on fire as he notices your jacket was spotted white.

"I would assume you can use that one for about 10 minutes or so. Maybe even longer if the blizzard is smaller."

You nod and walk over to the pond putting your hand on the surface. You spread your ice freezing the pond completely. You step out onto the ice carefully and snicker.

"Dabi, if I can stay warm, I don't think there's a limit to how much ice I can make."

You step off the ice and snap your fingers turning the ice into a snowstorm over the water. Dabi walks up beside you and grins evilly.

"You're quirk is stupid strong. Do you have any idea how much chaos you could cause?"

"I may have a grudge against society but there are other innocent kids out there. Kids just like you and me, they deserve a better future. Not to be frozen over in hell."

"Shame, you could take out the whole corrupt society in a single go."

"I would become what they say I am. I'd rather take them down without getting others involved."

"Tsk, and what happens when that's not possible?"

"Then I'll do what needs to be done. I'm not going to shy away from hurting people Dabi. However, I believe there's a better solution to this than going around burning people."

"One day you'll have to pick a side."

"You know where I'll stand when that day comes. Until then I'll do what I want."

"Protecting people who hate you?"

You let out a sigh and look up into Dabi's eyes.

"We can be better than this Dabi. We don't have to become what they see."

Dabi looks at you dully.

"You're optimism is irritating."

You smirk and him and take his hand in yours.

"How the hell else am I supposed to stay sain?"

Dabi chuckles and starts walking the path around the park. You walk beside him watching the last of your snow disappear on the water's surface.
