You walk down the street next to Sterusu grumbling softly. He chuckles as he casually walks next to you. He steps in front of you causing you to bump into him. You huff out and glare at Sterusu.

"What?"

"Take the day off boss. We got this, so don't worry bout it."

"I can't, we need the money to pay people to help s fix up the underground."

"What bout just given 'em the money we make? If the people that live down there're happy we helpin 'em out they might be more willing to 'sept ya."

You blink at Sterusu crioisly. He did have a good point, if we help them they might be more grateful.

"We build 'em some stuff and give 'em money, they would feel more inclined to protect ya."

"I don't need to be protected."

"Anyone get's a sniff of who ya are, you're toast. But if ya unite the underground they won't turn on ya."

You nod as you start to agree with Sterusu as he explained his point.

"You might be on to something. Have the Shadows meet up, we can talk more about it then."

"Until then, ya should take a break. You've been running ya self rugged. It ain't sitting well with ya."

"Okay okay, I get it."

You smile and wave as you walk away heading back to the basement house. You and Dabi had been using it as a hideout since neither of you wanted to go back to the apartments.

You walk past a T.V. store and stop noticing the news. You let out a sigh as the next news story was about how they found a new piece of evidence to find the Black Ice Villain. You shake your head and watch the reporter curiously.

"Today we have some new evidence pertaining to the Black Ice Villain. Last night at about 19:00 the villain was seen attacking a small convenience store in the Kamino ward. The villain did not kill anyone this time, however, we had an eyewitness who gave a detailed description."

You raise your eyebrow scoffing at the T.V. reporter. You'd never step foot in Kamino, it was too close to the big hero agencies. However, if you didn't kill anyone how'd they figure it was you?

"The girl says she saw a young man with long black hair and a clean black and white suit threaten the store clerk. Who was the only one in the store at the time, with a piece of black ice. The store clerk is being questioned by the police at the time however, he claims to have been knocked out and does not remember anything about the Black Ice Villain. The heroes are trying to deduce the villain's new patterns to catch him as swiftly as possible."

You cock your head curiously at the T.V. as you try to understand what was going on. A young man comes up to you standing beside you. You look over at him curiously, trying to figure out what he was playing at.

"So that bastard finally got sloppy. I sure hope they catch him soon, he's hurt so many people."

You look at him amused at his precarious position. If only he knew who he was talking to.

"He seems to be giving the heroes a run for their money."

"For now, he can't get away with it forever."

"Perhaps."

The man turns his head your way, giving you a curious look.

"You don't seem worried. What if he comes for you next?"

You scoff and look at him as you shove your hands in your pockets.

"That would be quite terrifying."

You slink away from the man disappearing into the shadows of the alley. You hear the man shout after you but you ignore him, continuing down the alley. You hear footsteps behind you and whip your head putting out your knife. The man was following you, his silhouette coming into view.

"You shouldn't go down these streets. You're just a kid, what if someone attacks you."

You look at him dully, irritation growing in your chest.

"Do I look like I'm a victim gramps?"

"We have to look out for each other."

You lean your head back laughing at him. Your eyes go back to his, an amused smile on your face. Before you can say anything a familiar raspy voice floats out of the shadows.

"Get outta here old man, this isn't the place for someone like you."

You speak up trying to be reassuring to the man. You really didn't want to kill anyone if you didn't have to.

"I'm going to be fine, just go on and get home. The shadows are no place for someone like you."

"It isn't a place for you either. Just come with me and I can get you somewhere safe. It's pretty clear you're in danger, little miss."

And with that, you feel a hot wind blow past you. Your hair flies around your face as you watch the man get swallowed up by Dabi's flames. You gasp and look at Dabi and glare.

"What the hell Dabi!"

He looks at you dully, clearly not interested in your attitude.

"He wasn't going to give up."

"You didn't need to-."

"Would you have rather him call in a report of a young girl in distress? You realize this is going to keep happening. What are you going to do when someone figures out who you are? Just gonna tell them to forget they saw you and run?"

You look at the ground feeling sick to your stomach as the burning flesh stings your nose.

"We don't live pretty lives Maiko, better figure that out quick. Or you can just bitch out and go to the police. I'm sure that's the best choice if you're going to be weak."

You look up at him glaring and clenching your fists.

"I. Am. Not. Weak."

Dabi smirks at you and leans into your face taunting you.

"Then toughen up, I'm not going to keep saving you."

You look at him narrowing your eyes as he smirks at you.

"Watch it Touya."

He stands back up shoving his hands in his pockets. He narrows his eyes at you as he stands there quietly. You look at each other for a moment before you speak up quietly.

"I was forced down this path, but I'll live it my own way. Whether you look down on me or walk beside me."

Dabi smirks at you as glare at him, holding back your seething rage.

"As if I'd walk beside anyone else."
