Part 29: Moving pieces

You hurry down the street stuffing the tears away so Natsuo doesn't notice. You round the corner and lean against the wall taking big breaths. Now really isn't the time for all of this, so of course this is when it comes. You clutch the phone in your hand smiling slightly. Maybe just maybe you could stop by and say hello. No, of course not, you can't go anywhere near them no matter what. Your phone goes off and you see a new number.

-Hey it's Natsuo, now you have my number too!! Get home safe, there are a lot of bad people out there right now. :(

You scoff as you stare at the small screen.

"Yeah and I'm one of them."

You put your phone away sliding down the wall. Your phone goes off again and at the same time Kage radios you.

-Hey boss just checked in. He hasn't moved at all.

"Rodger that, thanks, Kage."

-No problem.

You look at your phone your eyes dulling immediately at the text.

Dabi: Get your ass back here now.

Oh there it is, you were wondering how long it was going to be. Well, he's clearly not dead, and very pissed off. Kage radios again.

-He moved positions.

"Stop tracking him."

-Did something happen?

"Yeah."

-Alright, be safe boss.

"Always am."

-As if, over and out.

Just as you let out a sigh Sterusu calls you. You lay your head on the wall and pick up the phone.

"What is it?"

"Um, Shigaraki is in the underground."

"What?"

"Yeah, he's in the west district."

"Follow him, I'll be there soon."

You message Dabi grumbling as you think up an excuse.

Aiko: I'll get there when I get there.

Dabi: I wasn't asking.

Aiko: Look I'm really busy right now. I'll come as soon as I can.

Dabi: (Seen)

"He is going to kill me."

You sigh and put your phone in your pocket heading back towards the underground entrance.

You step into the west district and find Sterusu sitting at a table. You walk over signaling him to follow you.

"Why we doin' this?"

"I told you guys already, I want to keep an eye on him."

"And how ya plannin' on that?"

You smirk at Sterusu before scanning the shops for that blue-haired brat. You spot him sitting at one of the tables of the food shop. You walk up your hands in your pockets, a huge smirk plastered on your face. His angry red eyes shoot over to you.

"Why hello there Shigaraki."

"What are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here? No, you should be asking what you're doing down here. This is my town Shigaraki, my turf."

"So I found the mini-bosses layer."

You pull out the chair beside him ignoring the blond girl's attempts to speak to you.

"Here's the deal Shigaraki, I happen to have a place you can operate out of. It's secluded in a spot heroes don't patrol. But if you want it you have to offer me information."

"I don't need your help."

"You need people right? That's why you had that kid kidnapped. I'll help you, for a price of course."

The weird smoke guy speaks up.

"We should take her up on her offer. We don't have many options."

Tenko starts scratching his neck aggressively causing you to raise an eyebrow at him.

"You're quirky aren't ya?"

He snaps his eyes at you but remains quiet.

"Deal?"

"Fine."

"Splendid."

You write the address down on the napkin and put it down in front of him. You get up to walk away looking over your shoulder at him.

"If you cause any trouble your little attempt to be some big shot is going to be buried six feet under the concrete."

          You walk away happily, smirking as you feel Tenko's gaze on your back. You head back into the bar with Sterusu. You walk up to the others and speak quickly.

"I've got Shigaraki where I want him. I know you guys hate him so you'll be staying out of it but I'll be helping him out."

"What!?"

Mizu stands up visibly upset by your statement.

"It isn't your call Mizu."

"But Shigaraki."

"I know Mizu, but he isn't someone I'm going to ignore. This is going to be a huge problem unless I deal with it now."

"We are a team."

"Yeah, which means we can split up and work together. Now cut it out and sit down, I have enough to deal with without you throwing a fit."

She huffs quietly and sits down crossing her arms.

"I'm going to be unavailable for a couple of days. Take any jobs that would boost our rep, and turn down the rest. We don't need the money right now but don't go spending all yours in one place."

They all nod and disperse, going their own ways. You go up to the bar and order a drink.
          Catch comes up to you, sitting down beside you.

"What's the deal boss?"

You groan and drop your head on the counter.

"Catch, get out of my face."

"I'm not talking about Shigaraki."

You peek at him from under your hair.

"He's pissed, and I don't want to deal with it."

"I told you."

"You think I didn't know? I knew damn well what I was getting into."

"Well, then I guess you better go deal with it before it becomes another growing issue."

"I know, I know, I just need a fucking break."

"So take one, once things settle down just get out for a bit."

"I can't Catch."

He puts his hand on your back patting you softly.

"We're a team, right? It means we can split up and still get things done."

You roll your eyes and pick your head back up.

"I'll see how things go. Keep them in line while I'm gone, especially Sterusu."

"I got this boss, now get out of here."

You nod and get onto your feet leaving the bar grumpily. You were most definitely not looking forward to this.
