He had not spoken to Elena in a few days since what happened. His phone was constantly being disturbed by her messages, calls, and voicemails. Stefan was starting to feel terrible, but as soon as he started to remember what happened that night, all his regret vanished. The younger Salvatore was clueless when it came to what was happening lately in Elena's life, and quite frankly, he didn't care. He was well aware that it was a bad idea to abandon her with all the shit that was going on with her birth mother - Isobel - but if things were truly that bad, Damon would have called him. Especially since he and Elena were best fucking friends all of a sudden.

"Favourite planet?"

"Easy." He mumbled and munched on a chip her threw into his mouth, "Venus. Yours?"

"Mercury. No doubt." Aurora sipped on her milkshake, shifting around in her side of the booth as she waited for another quickfire question.

"Favourite movie?"

"Twilight, duh." She replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.

"I would have to disagree." Stefan stated, shaking his head slowly, "Edward is boring, Bella acts as if she is twitching in response to refraining from breakdancing and I would prefer not to go on a whole rant about how Jacob's character is just atrocious." Stefan rambled and rambled and...rambled.

"Okay! Geez, I got it. You don't like it. What's your favourite movie then if you're so quick to judge?" The Lockwood challenged, leaning forward on the table with her shoulders. She narrowed her eyes at him jokingly.

"I think I would have to go with...The Perks of being a Wallflower."

Aurora faked a buzzer and slammed her palm on the table, causing Stefan to judge. "Wrong answer, bimbo."

"What?! Why?"

"Because that's my favourite." She smirked and shrugged.

"But you just said-"

"Okay, quit stalling. I need to know the real juicy stuff." She waited in a confused silence as Stefan stared back at her with a frown, "You know! The founder's day event coming up. How's the Elena situation?"

"I don't want to talk about it." He crossed his arms and leant back.

"Oh, come on! You can't ignore her forever! It's just going to make things awkward on the day." Aurora said whilst stealing a few of his chips, "I have a question, actually."

"Which is?"

"If you're, you know, so against talking to her. And really do struggle to cooperate with her, why are you two still together?"

There was a deathly pause. The two of them both knew that this question would come up eventually, Stefan just had no idea it would come up sooner rather than later. And he wasn't ready to tell Aurora the dreaded answer.
