"Hey bitch, your mum said you aren't eating." Aurora announced herself into the hospital room that belonged to her best friend currently. Caroline groaned and cracked her neck to look up at the brunette standing in the doorway with a handful of crystals in her right hand.
the Lockwood had to admit, it was disheartening for her to see Forbes like this. Seeing as she was usually a bright girl who wasn't afraid to speak her mind; now having dark circles round her eyes and her hair looking malnourished."It's gross." Caroline sighed.
"It's hospital food," Aurora said, setting her crystals down on the table and placing a hand on the blonde's head and stroking her thumb back and forth, "It's supposed to be gross."
"Okay, just because you got discharged before me does not allow you to act like such a know-it-all." Caroline said, rolling her eyes.
Aurora decided to ignore her snappy statement and carried on talking, "...She also said that you were getting released tomorrow!" She threw her a big smile and made jazz hands at her unimpressed ghost of a friend. However, after she said this, Caroline's eyes widened and her mouth dropped when she looked at her brunette incredulously, "Alright, I know what you're going to say...but the carnival is going to happen without you, Caroline. I know it's hard for your neurotic control freak personality to process but Bonnie and Elena have it...and me. I think."
"I'm not neurotic."
Aurora raised an eyebrow, "Look, it's not about the carnival okay? It's just that this place is just really depressing." Caroline sputtered."It's because you're sitting in the dark," Aurora heaved herself up and made her way to the curtains, "Let some light in so I can show you the new crystals I bought-"
"No, don't!"
Aurora paused and turned to Caroline with a confused expression plastered on her face. "What?"
"Just...close it, please?" The blonde whined, becoming increasingly more visibly frustrated by the second, Aurora noticed. She noticed everything.
"Care, what's wrong?"
"Close it!" She shrieked. Aurora jumped and fumbled with the curtains to display them back to normal. The brunette sighed and looked at Caroline - feeling helpless.
"I'll just come back later, okay?"
And she walked out.

The Lockwood girl had to stop by her mansion before going to the carnival to drop off some books in her room. As she was climbing the stairs, she felt a similar sense of nostalgia hit her when she heard noises come from her father's study. Except her brother wasn't yelling this time, instead, scurrying across the floorboard could be heard. Curiosity wrapped his arm around Aurora and pulled her in the direction of the room.
She furrowed her eyebrows when she saw Uncle Mason looking around the study, almost in hopes of finding something that has nothing to do with money. "Uncle Mason, what are you doing?"
