"That was

"That was..." Aurora breathed out and trailed off, staring at the ceiling with slightly wide eyes. She dragged her finger up and down Michael's arm, the one that was flung lazily across her naked stomach.

"Yeah, it was." He agreed and dragged her closer to his bare body, nestling his face into the crook of her neck and kissing her softly. "It feels good to have you around more, now. You were sort of...distanced, before."

"I know," She hated how her mind always flew back to him, for he was the sole reason she was so distracted from everything else. As much as she hated to admit it. "I'm here now, I'm sorry."

He stroked her hair away from her face before replying, "You're here now."

"Yes, I am."

-------------------------

Aurora sauntered into the Lockwood mansion's foyer, her hands wrapped around her waist and yesterday's outfit still clothing her. Her eyebags had become more visible ever since that night in her bedroom with Stefan; her hair didn't bounce as she walked anymore, it drooped down to her shoulders. When was she ever going to learn? She had been here, right in this position, time and time again.

Except this time it was different, she didn't feel sadness towards what happened with her and Stefan this time. She felt rage. Quiet yet overwhelming female rage.
And by any chance, if he had the guts to utter a single syllable to her again. She was going to snap.

Tyler came through the foyer where she was still trudging inside and raised his arms in confusion, "Where the hell have you been? I needed to talk to you yesterday."

I needed to talk to you yesterday. Aurora knew what the secret translation to this sentence was.
'Our uncle is a werewolf and the topic still hasn't been brought up during tea time yet'. Great.

"I spent the night at Caroline's." Aurora muttered with a shrug, but the boxers that belonged to Michael snickered from under her baggy jeans, "What did you want to tell me?"

"I wanted to ask you if..." Tyler lowered his voice, "If you spoke with Mason yet."

"No? I was out all day yesterday. I thought you would have made him pipe up about it by now."

"Well I didn't and-"

Speak of the devil and he may appear. Uncle Mason strutted into the foyer with his head held high, he looked at the two siblings and nodded with a smile. The two stared back at him with their mouths wide open, he was acting as if it was normal to grow fur and howl every full moon! Before their uncle could exit, the oldest Lockwood sibling jogged up to him.

"Hey, Uncle Mason! You got a second?"

" No, man, barbecue at Jenna Sommers' house." Uncle Mason replied with a shrug of his shoulders.

"Come on man; give me two minutes, alright? You can't keep dodging us like this. We're freaking out over here!" Aurora walked up behind her brother and stared hopelessly at her Uncle. The same man who read her bedtime stories, who stood up for her when her father yelled, the only one who made her pancakes whenever he stayed over on a Sunday.
