The Booty Camp had been a disaster, Mercedes had arrived late, angering Mr Schue who demanded the maximum to win the Nationals, which was not wrong but sometimes his manners could be a bit abrupt. The lesson was very hard and tiring, but one good thing was that Quinn and Santana were back and although Liv had not framed well either of the two, from what she had seen, they were both great dancers.
After the dance lesson, she met Rachel at her place, as she had offered to help her perfect the last things for her audition.
"You know I'm really worried about Mercedes, she seemed pretty off today after the Booty Camp, maybe we should talk to Mr Schue and convince him to be less hard on her" said Liv while she was lying on her stomach on Rachel's bed with the sheet music of her song for the audition scattered in front of her.
"The show business world is really tough, if she can't handle the pressure now maybe it's time for her to reconsider her plans for her future," Rachel, annoyed, while she sat in front of the mirror and combed her hair.
"Rachel..." Liv sighed, trying to reason with her.
"No okay? Don't "Rachel" me, okay I get it, I may sound like a self-centred diva, but it's the truth and you know it. Out there it's a blood bath, why do you think I act like this all the time? Why do you think I spend hours rehearsing trying to be perfect and I expect the others to be the same? If you wanna win, if you want to be a star you need to make sacrifices, because it's always gonna be harder. Do you think that Vocal Adrenaline coach is gonna take it easy? No" said Rachel standing up and starting to walk back and forth around the room, as she gestured dramatically.
"I know but Vocal Adrenaline is diff-" tried to say Liv, but Rachel interrupted her again.
"Did the coach of your old Glee Club take it easy on you?" asked Rachel
"No he did not, but-"
"But you won, and I wanna win, I wanna be Maria in West Side Story and get into NYADA, I wanna be a star and prove to all the people who spent the last years laughing at me that I'm not a joke" said Rachel sitting on the bed next to Liv.
"And you will- said Liv sitting up on the bed and placing her hand above Rachel's- you are one of the most talented people I've ever met, you'll be a star on Broadway and not only, there's no doubt in that, but it's not worth losing friends over that, in ten years when you'll look back to high school you won't remember all the songs you sang but the friends you had- Liv made a brief pause- and also no one thinks you're a joke when you sing, Rachel" ended her speech Liv and Rachel smiled softly at her.
"Thank you- whispered Rachel- I really needed someone like you, I'm so glad you came into my life Olivia Parker, you are one of a kind"
"Oh we're using full names, so I guess it's serious Rachel Berry" giggled Liv.
"Very serious, but since I feel very good today, we can abandon our rehearsal in favour of this" said Rachel, getting out of bed and heading for the cabinet under the television and pulling out a DVD
"Grease? yes! God I love that movie" Liv exclaimed enthusiastically jumping on the bed, all that excitement made Rachel smile, because she was so adorable.
"A little birdie told me it's your favorite" said Rachel putting the cd in the dvd player.
"Kurt?"
"No...well yes, but it doesn't matter right now- said Rachel turning on the television- now give me some space the movie's about to start" said lying on the bed.
At some point in the movie Rachel put her head on Liv's shoulder and she smiled tenderly.
"I'm glad you're in my life too" whispered Liv convinced that Rachel would not hear her, since she was focused on humming every song in the film, little did she know that Rachel did hear her.
