Adelaide tried to ignore the ringing in her ears as she listened to Fury's orders. Number three engine down.
Adelaide ran to the fourth floor to find a way she might be able to fix it.
Adelaide ran into Steve. "This way." She told him and he followed. "Where's the class clown?" Adelaide asked as they ran up a set of stairs.
"Stark?"
"No," Adelaide stopped for only a second, "the Easter Bunny." She said as she started walking again.
Steve huffed and followed her. "Suiting up."
They ran through a heavy metal door and found workers helping an injured man out.
"Stark!" Steve yelled.
This entire part of the ship was missing. And the wind howled so loud they could barely hear what the other was saying.
"Stark, I'm here!" Steve yelled into his comm.
"Good." Stark flew in. "Let's see what we've got. I need you to get to that engine control panel and tell me which relays are in overload position."
Adelaide watched Steve perform a trapeze act to reach the level Stark was talking about. "Show off." Adelaide rolled her eyes.
"What does it look like in there?" Stark asked Steve.
"It seems to run on some form of electricity." Steve told him.
"Idiot." Adelaide muttered to herself and found her own way to the level. "Move over brawn and let the brains handle this."
Adelaide checked every wire and button and let out a sigh of frustration.
"What's wrong?" Steve asked.
"Nothings wrong. Which means we can't do anything." She gestured between the two of them. "Stark, the relays are intact."
"Nice if you to join the party."
"What's our next move?" Steve returned the relays to their spot and closed the door.
"Even if I clear the rotors, this thing won't re-engage without a jump. I'm going to have to get in there and push."
"If that thing gets up to speed, you'll get shredded." Steve warned him.
"That stator control unit can reverse the polarity long enough to disengage maglev and that could..."
"Speak English!" Steve told him.
"You see that red lever? It will slow the rotors down long enough for me to get out. Stand by it. Wait for my word. Now did you get all that?"
Steve jumped up to the platform that had the red lever.
"Don't worry, I've got the lever and Technophobe under control."
Suddenly two men heavily armed walked in. One threw a grenade and Steve jumped to knock it out of the air.
Adelaide jumped down and kicked the gun out of the man's hands. Grabbing onto the part of his vest that wrapped around the shoulder, Adelaide threw him into the sky.
A machine gun started firing from the doorway. Steve threw a scrap of metal at him.
Adelaide jumped behind a wall. "I've got him!" She yelled at Steve.
Adelaide got a running start and was quickly thrown to the side as the ship leaned.
The guy with the machine gun grabbed onto the door.
Steve suddenly started firing at the guy. He stepped back after he drew his attention and slipped. The only reason he wasn't falling from the sky was that he grabbed onto a loose wire.
"Idiot, I said I had him!" Adelaide yelled.
She regained her balance and came from behind the man. And used the barrel of his gun to hit her in the stomach then hit her head with his elbow.
She reached for her knife and slashed at his hands and wrists. He dropped the gun with the metal made contact with his hand.
"Cap, get the lever." Stark said.
"I need a minute here."
"Herrmann?"
"Five seconds!" She yelled as she sat atop the man's shoulders.
"Now!"
Adelaide removed his helmet and mask and reached for the floor of the upper level. She squeezed her legs around his neck until he dropped the gun in his hands.
She let go of him and Stark flew in, hitting the man and they both flew into the hallway.
"Yeah, you had it." Steve said as they both tried to catch their breath.
