"Attention all S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, this is Steve Rogers. You've heard a lot about me over the last few days. Some of you were even ordered to hunt me down. But I think it's time you know the truth."

He took a second, looking up at Maria, Sam and Adelaide.

"A.H.I.E.L.D. is not what we thought it was. It's been taken over by Hydra. Alexander Pierce in their leader. The S.T.R.I.K.E. and Insight crew are Hydra as well. I don't know how many more, but I know they're in the building. They could be standing right next to you. They almost have what they want. Absolute control. They shot Nick Fury. And it won't end there. If you launch those helicarriers today, Hydra will be able to kill anyone that stands in their way. Unless we stop them."

Adelaide looked out the window and checked her watch. Insight was just delayed by a minute. Not by much, but it showed Steve's plan was working so far.

"I know I'm asking a lot. But the price of freedom is high. It always has been. And it's a price I'm willing to pay. And if I'm the only one, then so be it. But I'm willing to bet I'm not."

"Did you write that down first, or was it off the top of your head?" Sam asked.

"Oh." Adelaide sighed. "We got a problem." She watched the bay doors open.

"They're initiating launch." Maria told them.

Sam, Steve and Adelaide ran outside.

"Hey, Cap, how do we know the good guys from the bad guys?" Sam asked.

"If they're shooting at you, they're bad."

Steve jumped onto the first helicarrier while Sam took Adelaide to the second one.

"I'm gonna throw you." He yelled at her when they started opening fire.

"No!"

"1..." Adelaide closed her eyes. "3..." Sam had to throw her for them both to not get shot.

Adelaide prayed she would t get shot out of the sky.

She rolled to a stop and got in a low stance, firing at anyone running towards her.

"Okay, Cap. We're in."

Adelaide ran for the door while Sam covered her.

"I'm in." Adelaide said. She pulled out the blade and inserted it. "Bravo lock. Sam."

She looked over the edge of the railing, waiting for Sam to get her.

"Gimme a minute!"

Adelaide mentally readied herself before she took a running start.

"Sam, I'm gonna need a ride."

"Drop me off." Sam dropped her on the third helicarrier before he went to get Steve.

"You know, you're a lot heavier than you look." Sam told Steve when they landed.

"I had a big breakfast." Someone tan up from behind a cargo box and pushed Steve over the edge.

"Steve!" Sam went to fly and get him, but when he opened his wings and pulling him back.

Adelaide drew her knife. She kept slashing at the Soldier but he was always just out of her reach. Sam opened fire, almost hitting Adelaide.

"Watch it."

Adelaide ran to where the soldier found cover. He threw out his arm, expecting her to run into it.

Using her momentum, she held onto his arm and had her legs on his shoulder, pulling both down.

His elbow flew out, hitting her nose. Adelaide let go of him and ducked further to avoid his metal arm flying her way.

The soldier used a grappling hook to pull Sam back down. Then he ripped off the wing and pushed Sam over the edge.

Adelaide took the distraction to run for the door.

She stopped, almost falling when there was a sudden pain in her leg. She turned and the soldier was already coming her way.

She tried hobbling to the door as fast as she could.

She was suddenly pulled back when someone pulled on her hair. "Ahh!" She screamed.

She hit is sternum and he let go. She turned and he grabbed her by the throat and threw her off the helicarrier.

"Sam. Sam!" Adelaide closed her eyes. She wrapped her arms around her head and tried to keep her muscles relaxed.

She was falling from almost 3,000 feet with no parachute. No matter what she did she couldn't relax.

She landed hard on the helicopter landing pad. She cradled her right arm for a moment before finally standing.

She ran into the Council room.

"Done." She heard Natasha say. "And it's trending." She finally noticed Adelaide. "Finally. Is it done?"

Adelaide shook her head. "Rogers is still up there."

There was an electric sound coming from somewhere in the room. They all looked to one of the councilmen who now had a baseball sized hole in his shoulder.

It happened to all the rest.

Natasha aimed her gun at Pierce. "Unless you want a two-inch hole in your sternum, I'd put the gun down." They all three had their guns ready. "That was armed the moment you pinned it on."

They all lowered their guns.

"Lieutenant, how much longer?" Pierce asked.

"65 seconds to satellite link. Targeting grid engaged. Lowering weapons array now."

"What a waste." Pierce said when he saw the helicarriers destroying themselves.

"So, you still on the fence about Rogers' chances?"

"Time to go Councilwoman. This way. Come on. You're going to fly me out of here."

Adelaide looked at Fury with wide eyes. They could t let him just fly away with Natasha.

"You know, there was a time I would've taken a bullet for you." Fury said.

"You already did." Pierce reminded him. "You will again when it's useful."

Natasha groaned and electricity ran through her body.

Adelaide took out her gun and fired at Pierce twice.

"Romanoff. Natasha." Adelaide knelt next to Fury. "Natasha! Come on!"

Her eyes finally opened and she looked around. "Ow. Those really do sting."

They all ran to the helicopter and took off.

"Please tell me you got that chopper in the air!"

"Sam, where are you?" Natasha asked over the radio.

"41st floor! Northwest corner!" He yelled.

"We're on it! Stay where you are!"

"Not an option!" He told her.

They all saw a man fall through a window, Fury turned the chopper to a 90 degree angle and Sam fell in.

Adelaide grabbed him before he could fall through the other end.

"41st floor! 41st!" He yelled at them.

"It's not like they put the floor numbers on the outside of the building."

"Hill! Where's Steve? You got a location on Rogers?" Natasha asked.
