It's summer
Even though the room has gone colder
Outside, rain and thunder
Today would be the last time he saw her
A moment that he will live for much longer
A moment that is gonna get harder and harder
His eyes are red
Her inert body
Laying in her deathbed
Is now free
-----
All of those tears he shed
It made him empty
He's basically walking dead
Causing their daughter to worry
She did all she could to have him consoled
But he had gone too cold
Pain
It's all that remains
Now that she was gone
He only felt alone
What to do with his life remained unknown
Constantly searching for sins for which he could atone
He couldn't find any
And was constantly asking God to have mercy
He didn't want to be here anymore
Something he would have never thought about before
All he was thinking about was her
About when they were together
He used to wake up to the colour of her soul
Feeling light and alive
From it he would thrive
Death really takes its toll
Now he's lost with her ghost and their memories
Far from being at ease
Beside him, coldness
Trapped in this darkness
Drowning in his sadness
Feeling way more than he could express
In a state of constant weakness
In a state of constant emotional distress
But then he had this one beam of light
He realized what he made his daughter feel
He couldn't stand to see her in a constant fright
And it was about time he took back the wheel
A gap he had to brim
He knows how much she loves him
He may lost the love of his life
But he loves her as much as his late wife
And that's why he'll keep going on
He knows he'll eventually have to start moving on
If something was sure
It's that, one day, he'll go and join her
