S A D I E

I look at Lucas sitting beside me, his hand on the steering wheel. He's wearing a hoodie and sweats, and still manages to look stunning.

'I can see you peeking, princess.'

That goddamn nickname.

I blush and look away. Whereas he just chuckles. I look out the window, still feeling his arms wrapped around me. He was so warm and felt oddly... comfortable.

'Beautiful.' Lucas mutters, I glance at him to see him already staring at me.

Just as usual, my best friend has to always ruin the moment. I answer the call. 'What?'

'What's wrong with you?'

'Nothing... Nothing...'

'Where are you?'

'I was at the beach-'

'Where are you now, Say?'

'In a matte, expensive, black car.' I reply quietly.

'What, how could y- Wait.' He pauses for a second. 'Hey, Lucas.'

'Hey, Jaxon.'

'Bringing her home?' Jaxon asks.

'No, I'm taking her to my house.'

'Bring her back by twelve, I'm at her house right now-'

'What are you doing in my house?' I ask.

'Your parents left me in charge.' He sounds so accomplished.

I raise my eyebrows and shake my head. 'Bye, Jax.'

'By twelve, Lucas.'

'Got it, mate.'

I end the call and drop my phone into the cup holder. I raise the radio and we sit in comfortable silence. After a few minutes, Lucas breaks it.

'I never asked, since Jaxon is always so overprotective of you, how did he react the night we met?'

I grimace. 'Well, he punched my wall, causing a dent, he bruised his knuckles, he cried, he showed all emotions, then he asked about the details of 'the night with Lucas Hot-Man Edwards' So it was quite the reaction.' I reply.

Lucas raised his eyebrows. 'He punched... your wall?'

'He has anger issues; he has had them since forever. He used to go to therapy. But he hasn't punched a... wall, in a while, so he's kind of learning to control it.' I smile slightly. I've always been Jaxon's biggest supporter; I've stood beside him when his own parents didn't. I helped him come to terms with his anger issues when his own sister didn't.

His sister Joanna and Jaxon got into a really huge fight around a year ago. It involved Joanna being embarrassed of Jaxon's protectivity and anger, and Jaxon not letting the poor girl live her life freely. I guess both of them had a point. But the fight got so big that they wouldn't live in the same house. But after around six months of not speaking, Jaxon's parents and I decided to step in. I helped them figure out a lifestyle that fitted both of them. Now, they get along perfectly, just like two peas in a pod, and try to avoid talking about the fight. Joanna's a freshman now in our school.

I look over to Lucas. His side profile looks stunning. His dirty blond hair looks so fluffy, I resist the urge to take a photo of him. His bright blue eyes shining in the moonlight.

'Can I take a photo of you?' I blurt out. Lucas gives me a side eye look and nods slightly.

I grin and pull out my phone and snap a picture of him driving. I put my phone back in the cup holder.
