As the two watchers in player form came out of the nether portal almost all the hermits were waiting for them, Grian was standing a bit behind Astaria. Xisuma came forward towards Astaria with his sword pointed towards her and a lot of the other hermits seemed to either have their swords in their hands or be prepared to get them out. They slowly all moved over slightly and a few of the hermits came around the back to cover the nether portal until there was a circle of hermits around them. In the centre of the circle were Xisuma and Astaria being opposite of each other and Grian stood just back from being in between so he could help mediate if it was needed.
"So who are you?" Xisuma started off by asking.
"My name is Astaria," She replied, keeping a calm face."Why are you here?"
"I'm here to help with your watcher problem," Astaria said and all the hermits recoiled slightly.
"How did you know about that?" Xisuma asked, with his grip tightening around the hilt of his sword.
"The code glitches that have been affecting your server were picked up by my software, the glitches are commonly associated with when watchers are trying to breach into a server. Assuming by the tower and the symbol on the mountain over there that my software was right," Astaria lied, she had been trying to get into the server before she learnt about the watchers.
"How do we know that you are not a watcher?" Xisuma questioned.
"I am an admin and I can pull up my admin screen," she said as she pulled out her screen.
Xisuma saw the screen and visibility relaxed and turned to the hermits, "You continue getting prepared. I will talk with Astaria here and see what assistance she can give us. You go as well Joe it's more important to get ready to fight since the translation isn't going anywhere,"
The hermits all slowly left through the nether portal until the only ones left were Astaria, Xisuma and Grian. "Grian you don't need to stay here if you don't want to," Xisuma said.
"I'd prefer to stay here, I have met Astaria before as well so I know some things about her," Grian replied.
Xisuma nodded and he turned back to Astaria who had made her way over to where the documents were, she was looking over them. "Some of these translations are close but not quite right," Astaria said.
She picked up a pen and started translating them as Xisuma and Grian came over to where she was. "I'm assuming that you got these from the hidden area behind the picture of the first watchers?"
"Did you learn about that area from the same place as Grian?" Xisuma asked, he hadn't heard about it and both Grian and Astaria did.
"I studied watchers to try and find ways to defeat them, I visited a lot of affected servers and was able to pick up patterns between the towers. Grian was around when I was working on writing my study on it so I told him about it," Astaria said while she was still translating the documents.
Xisuma turned towards Grian to see if what she said was true and Grian went along with the lie replying with a simple nod. "What other things do you know about watchers?" Xisuma asked, now interested in what Astaria knew.
"I know some of their basic history as well as how they structure their buildings, it's also how I started learning galactic. I found the documents and wanted to be able to decipher them," Astaria said.Grian was surprised how easily she was lying about everything, she must have planned it out before she made her way onto the server.
Xisuma and Grian couldn't really do too much as Astaria was translating the documents, Xisuma didn't want to leave the stranger alone and Grian wanted to stay close in case something happened. "Hey G do you want to do some sparring?" Xisuma asked, exchanging his red blade for a black one, his shield was already equipped in his off-hand.
"Okay," Grian said, he moved his purple blade out of his hotbar and brought out his netherite sword as well as a shield.
The two hermits started circling each other, neither of them was going to make the first move yet. Then Xisuma made his move and Grian quickly dodged Xisuma's attack and then attacked in the same jump. Xisuma brought his shield up to block and tried to take another swing toward the smaller hermits but Grian just jumped over the blade and used Xisuma's shield as a pad to jump over him with. Grian went down for another slash and instead of Xisuma's shield meeting his blade it clashed with another blade. The two were now using blades and they were clashing, Grian was trying very hard not to use any magic in his fighting, and both their shields were tossed to the side. Xisuma thought he was about to get the upper hand when Grian jumped up for an attack but instead of taking a slash, he focused on getting Xisuma's sword away from him, which he succeeded in doing.
"Grian I didn't realise you were so skilled with a sword," Xisuma said, going over to pick up his sword, "Where did you learn?"
"I had some lessons while I was younger and just continued doing some training, though it's mainly more forms than sparring since I joined the server," Grian said, putting his sword away, "How's the translating going?"
"Just finishing up the last page now, if you want to start looking at them," Astaria said, finishing writing on a page, "And... done,"
Xisuma picked up some of the translations and skimmed through them, "Are there any on when they are planning to attack?" he asked Astaria.
"Nothing obvious, I'm assuming maybe there is some sort of code hidden in the writing but it isn't one I know," she replied.
A crack then sounded from above. The three of them all looked up to the sound of the noise, purple lighting was slashing through the sky. The sky became darker so the lightning seemed much scarier. Soon a bunch of portals opened up between the cracks of lightning. Out of the portals came small flying purple blurs, the watchers were here and they were starting their attack.
