The watchers obviously hadn't been expecting her to attack, it broke their formation which just made it easier for her to start her attack. She quickly disarmed the closer and weaker watchers, she wasn't aiming to kill any of them. They were watchers who in the right reality were just normal citizens so she didn't want to kill them since deaths that happened in this reality would carry over to the right one. So instead of going for a death slice he went for one that would be non-lethal but would make it so they would not be able to return to the fight, and her attacks with magic were a mix of stunning magic with a bit of slow falling since with the height that they were at it would have been almost fatal if not fatal.
From below Grian could see how she was able to swiftly take out the first line of watchers, he also noticed how she wasn't killing them and he could see some of the watchers fall to the ground. Xisuma, who was next to Grian, with this sword still without cracks in his hand, asked, "How?"
He didn't ask it to Grian so he assumed that he was just confused about how she had an admin screen, he wouldn't want to answer that question anyways, he didn't want to say anything that Astaria didn't want him to say since no matter what reality she was still a secretive person. Then Xisuma did direct a question at him, "Did you know about her being a watcher?"
He didn't want to lie to his friend any more than he already did so he said, "Yes, I found out when she saved my life from other watchers and we became friends when she saved my life a few other times. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you,"
He still hid the fact that in all those scenarios he was a watcher and that in this reality they were the only ones who knew about those incidents. "It wasn't your secret to tell, plus I understand why both of you didn't, with the stigma around watchers it's hard to believe there are any good ones out there," Xisuma replied.
It made a small smile appear on his face that Xisuma, even if it was an alternate reality version of the one he knew, would see that even though Astaria was a watcher she wasn't bad.
The fight was still carrying on in the sky, it seemed that the watchers had gotten back in formation and it was becoming harder and harder for her to take all of them on while still keeping the shield up since fireballs were still being sent their way. The hermits all had new swords but they didn't have the same level of enchants that their previous ones had so they would not be able to hold up against any more fireball attacks, they wanted to help but they also knew that the shield that they were currently behind was protecting them and as long as they were behind it Astaria didn't need to worry about whether or not they were getting hurt.
Astaria was starting to get overwhelmed with the number of attacks, not trying to kill anyone it meant that all her attacks had to be even more calculated than normal which made her attack speed lower. She wished that she could just freeze time but in this reality, she was struggling with larger magic, it was draining her much quicker. A lot of her energy was just going into holding up the shield. Grian could also tell that Astaria was struggling with fighting the torrent of watchers that kept coming her way, he felt as though he should go up and help but he was still scared. He knew that this wasn't his actual reality but he still had false memories and they still had the faces of the hermits and he was scared of how they would react. Then he could see one of the outer watchers sending a fireball directly towards her hand that was holding up the barrier. The shield crumbled around the hermits and Grian cast another one around them causing heads to turn in his direction.
He decided he might as well just come out with it, he also changed into his watcher form, becoming Xelqua once again, causing his large purple wings to flap out behind him and he flew up to help Astaria. With the two of them up in the sky attacks were coming Astaria's way and she was more easily able to take out everyone who was attacking, it took a while but with the help of Xelqua, she was able to subdue the remaining watchers in the air. All of the watchers that attacked were now on the ground, either injured or stunned into unconsciousness. Astaria and Xelqua rounded them up and placed them in a cage that Astaria made with some magic. After all of the watchers were gathered up the two watchers turned to face the hermits.
Xelqua changed back into his player form and so did Astaria, though this time she forgo the glasses since there was no point hiding her lack of seeing eyes. He expected them to yell at him and tell him how he should have told him about what had happened but instead, the hermits all gave him one giant hug. "You're not mad at me?" Grian asked.
"Maybe a bit upset that you didn't tell us, but of course, we aren't mad at you," Mumbo said.
"Even if I'm a watcher?" Grian said in shock, he was surprised.
"Of course not, we're your friends, and it's not like you're like the rest of them anyways," Scar said with a big grin on his face.
The happy moment was soon interrupted by more watchers coming through more portals. Astaria quickly changed back into her watcher form, "Hold your swords out," Astaria called out as she put her hand into the air.
The swords then glowed a light purple, different from the colour of normal enchantments. Astaria explained what she did, "These will hold up under the blast of fireballs now,"
Grian also changed back into his watcher form. He and Astaria then spelled their bows to do damage against watcher shields and made the hermit shield magic proof so this time they could actually fight.
The hermits moved towards the oncoming watchers but Xisuma stayed behind for a second. "I know that something isn't right here. Something happened didn't it?" he asked.
"Uh-uh um uh," were the noises that came out of Xelqua's mouth, he didn't know what to say.
"The spell that the watcher sent into your head, it made you realise something was wrong," Astaria stated.
"I started remembering some things that never happened, some things like talking with my brother in a familiar place that I didn't recognise. So something has changed," Xisuma said.
"Yes, some watchers and admins changed the reality and changed everyone's memories," Xelqua replied truthfully, "The only way to stop it is to get them to undo it or to kill them,"
"Go then," Xisuma said with an invigorated look in his eyes.
"What do you mean?" Xelqua asked.
"The tools you gave us will help us deal with the attacking watchers. You need to defeat them so go," Xisuma said.Xelqua nodded at him and Astaria quickly made some more magic cages and gave Xisuma the key and they left the server. Upon leaving they ended up in a place surrounded by tents, an alarm started going off that blurted purple light and they were knocked over. When they looked up they saw a sword pointed at them, they looked up at the red blade to see who it belonged to. Familiar red eyes stared at them, the person had light green hair in the style of a bob cut, though it looked as though it was hastily cut. The person at the end of the sword was none other than Lysabel.
