Bucky sat bolt upright as he suddenly heard noises come from the room next to his. The shouts, the screams in languages he could and couldn't understand, getting louder by the moment. The Winter Soldier quickly getting to his feet and making his way to the door.

He should have known that this would happen. That she would have nightmares. How could she not? She had been through everything that he had, maybe even more. She had fought just like him. Seen the worst things that you could ever imagine. Been forced to do things that she had never wanted to do. That, and Bucky could only imagine what was going through her head concerning the day that she had just had. She had begun with finding herself free of Hydra walking the streets of a city that she hadn't seen since the 40s. Abused by some guy that she had accidentally bumped into, before being held in a police precinct, at gunpoint by over a dozen cops. And then, just to put a tin hat on it, she had not only begun to remember the most awful of things, but she had also found out what and who she really was. Bucky sure that even half of that, would push anyone to have bad dreams.

"(Y/n)!...............(Y/n)?!" The old soldier called out, as he banged on the door to her room. The noises inside getting louder still, before everything went eerily quiet. Bucky looking at Steve as his old friend came to stand by his side. Both soldiers putting their shoulders to the door, as without warning a loud explosion rang out. The Captain and Sargent finally getting into the room to be confronted by chaos. Singed and burnt furniture blown around the space. The once large window that had graced that part of the building, now no longer there. Bucky racing over to the huge hole in the wall. The soldier staring out into the darkness, doing his best to catch a glimpse of her. Her name leaving his lips again, as he called out in hopes that she would hear him.

"What the hell...............?" Tony asked in disbelief, as he and Bruce made it to the room. The billionaire looking around the destroyed expanse. The rest of the team not far behind.

"F.R.I.D.A.Y! F.R.I.D.AY................?!" Tony called out. His brows furrowing as nothing came. The lights in the room and down the corridors flickering wildly.

"What the hell has your girlfriend done to my compound, Barnes..........?" The billionaire enquired, as he turned his attention to Bucky who quickly made his way up to him.

"She was having a nightmare.........did you expect anything else? She's been to hell and back and you didn't think that it was going to affect her? That something like this couldn't happen? And don't pretend like you can't afford to fix this. Whatever it costs, will be chump change. You won't even notice it." Bucky growled disdainfully, before shoving Tony forcefully with his shoulder as he made his way out into the corridor. Steve just giving Iron Man's alter ego a look, before following after his friend. The two old soldiers making their way out to the front of the compound and staring into the silent darkness.

It had only taken her a moment to move between the strange building and the woods. The Winter Guard hiding behind the trunk of one of the old trees. The thick canopy that hung high above her head refusing to let anything but the slightest chinks of light from the moon, make its way through.

She still had no idea where she was. She recognised nothing. Could remember nothing. Not the room that she had been in. Not the building that she had just run from. And not the woods that she was now taking refuge in.

The last image in her head, was being strapped into the chair as she had been so many times before. The mouthguard pushed between her teeth, before the mechanism was placed around her head. But this time, there was something different about the image. Something that she was sure that had never been there before. A face. Usually, all those around her were little more than nameless, faceless demons. Wanting to do nothing but torture her. Yet here, in this moment, the doctors, the scientists, the machines all seemed to fade into nothingness. Just the face remaining. A beautiful face. One that belonged to a man that she had the strangest feeling that she knew. That she liked.

Suddenly, she heard something. A voice calling out a name. The Winter Guard carefully looking out from behind the tree where she had hunkered down. Her eyes catching a glimpse of a figure standing at the hole that she had just made. Something inside her making her want to step out from her hiding place. To make her way back to the building. Yet despite the strange pull that she was experiencing, years of warfare had taught her better. Taught her not to be seen. To not give her position away. To never give in or surrender. And she wasn't about to go against that now. She wasn't about to turn her back on all her training, just because of an image of a beautiful face. The Winter Guard quietly moving back into her position. Cursing under her breath, as she finally realized that she had none of her usual weapons. That she had nothing but her arm and her cunning to get her out of whatever this situation was that she had found herself in.

"Buck............." Steve called out, as his friend finally moved.

"Where are you going...................?"

"Where do you think I'm going? I'm going to find her. I can't leave her alone out there. God only knows what's going on in her head. She could be terrified.............."

"Or she could be ready to fight anyone that comes after her. You know what she is, Bucky. You know what she is capable of..............."

"And you knew what I was capable of, yet you still came for me. I had you, Steve, and she has me. If she wants to fight, then that's what she'll get. But I'm not letting her go. I'm not letting them get their hands on her again." Bucky interrupted with a low growl, before turning and racing towards the trees. Steve sighing heavily. Knowing that his old friend was right. The captain quickly making his way to follow the Winter Soldier.
