"No! I won't let you do this to her. She needs time to adjust, to get used to things. After what happened the other night, you now want her to perform for you like an organ grinders monkey." Bucky growled, as he glared at Tony and the others. The soldier finding it hard to believe that Steve even agreed with the billionaire.
"Since when do you talk for her. Surely the decision is up to the major herself?" Tony replied with a roll of his eyes at the Winter Soldiers threatening stance.
"I mean..........we aren't asking her to go into a war zone..............."
"Bucky. I know that you're worried. And I agree that she does need time. That maybe we should even send her to Wakanda. But Stark is right, we do need to know what she is capable of. We had no idea that her arm was different to yours. That it was more like something one of Stark's Iron Man suits has. We need to know what we are dealing with." Steve interjected. Hoping that this would sound better coming from him than it did from the billionaire.
"I don't................."
"Its alright..............." A voice suddenly came from behind the old soldier. Bucky and the others turning to look at the woman that had been sat listening to the whole conversation.
"(Y/n). You don't need to do this. You don't have to prove yourself to Stark or anyone......................"
"It's not proving myself, Bucky..............it's just showing all of you what you might have to face if something goes wrong. Mister Stark and Captain Rogers are right. I have to do this................" (Y/n) continued, as she got to her feet.
"What do you want me to do..................?"
>>---------------------------------<<
"Everything will be ok, (Y/n). If you want to stop at any time, just stop. If you need me, just call. If you feel anything is wrong, I.................."
"I know. Everything will be alright. Mister Stark assured me that if anything happens, there are measures in place that should slow me down. Everything is bulletproof, so I won't be able to harm you or the others. I just........I want you..........I want you to know what I can do. What I am capable of..........." (Y/n) explained, as she placed her hand on Bucky's cheek.
"Now, let me do this before I change my mind..............." The major added with a small chuckle. Giving the Sargent a smile; Bucky nodding before reluctantly leaving the room. The door to the closing with a heavy thud.
The major turned to look at the array of weapons that had been laid out on the table for her to use. She knew each and every one of them. She had handled all of them. She could use them, break them down and reassemble them all in her sleep. And now, here, she was going to have to use them again. But it was for a good reason. (Y/n) knew that she was dangerous. That anything could push her to become the Winter Guard, and if it did, the major needed the Avengers to know how to stop her. She needed them to know how to kill her if needs be. Her fingers softly ghosting over one of the semi-automatic. The major closing her eyes, and taking a deep breath, before she picked it up.
>>---------------------------------<<
"If anything goes wrong........................" Bucky warned as soon as he got into the room on the other side of the two-way glass. His eyes fixed on Tony.
"Yeah, yeah, I know...........if anything goes wrong, I'm gonna regret it. Look, Prince Charming, your girl knows what she's doing. And to be honest, I don't think that she needs any one to look after her. Now, the sooner we get this over with, the sooner you two can get back to doing whatever it is you have been doing together in your room every night since she blasted half of my compound away." Tony said. Shaking his head at the soldier before turning back to look through the window. Steve holding his friend back, as he tried to surge forward. The Sargent huffing, as he pushed himself away from the captain. Straightening his T-shirt, as he wondered if he could get to the billionaire before he could call one of his suits.
Finally, the room went quiet; the team watching as the woman in the other room ghosted her fingers over the vast array of weapons that had been lain out for her. The major closing her eyes before she picked up one of the semi-automatics, tapping the rear of a magazine on the table before pushing the clip into place.
"What's she saying........?" Clint suddenly asked, as the woman in the other room began to move her lips. Bruce turning up the volume so that they could hear her.
"It............its Russian............" Nat said, as she stepped forward.
"It sounds like................it sounds like something from the Art of War............."
"It is. She is saying 'be extremely subtle even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.' Bucky explained, before Nat could say any more. Both soldier and Widow listening as the major continued to quote Sun Tzu. The last words leaving her lips being 'begin by seizing something which your opponent holds dear; then he will be amenable to your will,' before she reached up and pressed something on the side of her neck. A helmet that looked just like her arm instantly covering her head, before bullets began to fly. One magazine quickly replaced by another. One gun following the last. The Avenger's watching on in disbelief.
