Sometimes Scarlett looks in the mirror and she sees a ticking time bomb staring back at her. Mental health is a tricky thing, it's not rainbows and glitter all of the time. Healing is just as (if not more) painful as receiving the wound. Her friends noticed something wrong with her smile recently. It was fake. It's been a few weeks since they started building the sparring deck and today was their first day using it. For the past few weeks, Daniel and Johnny have been teaching each other's students their styles and now they were displaying what they've learned. Scarlett and Johnny were currently on the sparring deck. Johnny was attacking, and Scarlett was defending using a few techniques Daniel showed her. "You ready, Scar?" Johnny asked.
"Yes, sensei." Scarlett took a breath before she got into her fighting position.
Johnny did the same a second before attacking. "Ais!" He yelled out before he aimed a knee at her torso.
Scarlett threw it down quickly using the sand-the-floor technique. Johnny then threw a few punches towards her head which were quickly blocked. He took a step back, sending a roundhouse kick to her side that she caught and threw down. He took a second before sending another up to her head with the opposite leg. Scarlett flinched a little but she was able to bring her arm up to protect her head.
"Good block."
He tried to strike her in the shoulder but she spun around, making her way behind him and once Johnny turned around she sent a kick to his gut, making him stumble back. "Hai!"
"Good job." Johnny chuckled before they bowed to each other.
Scarlett had her back up against her car with her water bottle in one hand and her phone in the other. When Eli was watching her train today he noticed this blankness in her face. Even when she wasn't actually doing much of anything she just looked...blank. "Hey, you okay?" Eli walked up to her, clutching the strap of his gym bag over his shoulder.
