I woke up bright and early, not wanting to waste any time. I quickly got dressed and ran quietly downstairs so I didn't wake anyone up. I quickly jotted down a little note to Jenna, telling her I got a last minute babysitting call that would last the whole day and I wouldn't be home till late, before rushing out of the house and out of this supernatural hot spot of a town.

The drive to Duke was uneventful. I listened to music and thought about things that I had achieved so far and what I needed to get done still.

I have made a vervain anklet which I wear around my ankle. I have successfully made a copy of Emily Bennett's grimoire and returned it to Guiseppe's coffin. I have started to take self defense classes. I also managed to befriend Caroline, which I wasn't planning on doing but may prove to be useful later on in the future.

I still need to get the moonstone which I planned to do at the Founders' Party coming up soon, learn how to resist compulsion which I've started with the help of some of Jenna's college textbooks but I plan on getting some books more focused on the power of persuasion, and I need to find a replacement moonstone. Other than that life will be pretty quiet til the tomb is opened besides trying to save Lexi.

I had gone back and forth on the matter and decided that Lexi could be more useful in the future alive than dead. I wasn't going to stick my neck out to do it though. I can't risk them knowing that I know stuff right now. I planned on giving Caroline some vervain to keep her from throwing the party and if that didn't deter Damon I'd reveal the bartender Ben to him at the party so that he may die instead. But that wasn't for a while.

I pulled myself from my thoughts when my eyes spotted the sign for Duke University. I parked the car and with the help of a helpful receptionist found my way to Isabel's old office where I was met by the assistant Vanessa.

I told her what I came for and all I knew about the supernatural and in exchange for some of her books and the locations of other books I may like, I'll give her copies of the Gilbert journals I made. Vanessa quickly agreed and filled my duffel bag to the brim with books and gave me a list of book titles and authors I should look over. I thanked her for her time and after asking her about where I could find a decorative rock story nearby I left her in Isabel's old office.

I went to the store she recommended and bought a few different stones and one that looked exactly like the moonstone so as to not raise any suspension. I didn't know where Klaus and Elijah had spies so I'd have to remain as discreet as humanly possible. I then went to a huge bookstore and found a few books that Vanessa had recommended and some promising psychology books.

Once I was done there I grabbed something to eat before going on my next escapade. I found a weapons store and bought a gun, crossbow, some knife holsters for stakes, and a bunch of wood which I planned on making into stakes and wooden pullets later with the help of a fake id I made myself.
