(Lancel POV)

[POV Lancel]

Upon waking up, I felt much better, my body feeling noticeably lighter.

<The Host can choose from the other two options,> the damn System tells me.

'Then let's go in order, option two,' I say to avoid delaying the process. 'I hope this time it won't be as painful,' I thought.

<What power would you like, Host?>

'I want chakra to flow through my brain,' I tell the System. 'Maybe I'll awaken the Sharingan or not, but I hope to at least be able to cast genjutsu, it would help me a lot,' I thought.

<After the update, the Host will experience more pain than the last time. Initiating option two. Loading chakra in the brain. Wait time is one year and one month,>

'Ah... I'll have to wait for this power. If I have one year and it's 280 AD, that means there are two years and eight months left until the Battle of the Trident. Time flies when I practice and train, just as I felt when I was in special operations; I didn't have time for my personal life, which is why I was a loner at twenty-four years old,' I thought

During this time, I've seen my physical development, which must be due to the system. If I continue developing at this speed, by the time I'm three years old, I'll have the body of a six-year-old. So, I have to strengthen myself as best I can without overusing my muscles to avoid affecting my growth. I want to develop in a way that allows me to have a uniform body, maintain my ideal weight, and have enough strength and physical endurance.

Lisa spends most of her time accompanying me in my exercises. If she continues like this, she will be an excellent warrior. I already feel that she will be a reliable fighter during the Long Night. It's clear that she likes to fight in a stable manner because she only makes the necessary moves when training with me in swordsmanship. As we grow, I make small wooden swords for us to practice with.

One year later...

"Completing installation of the new mental power in the Host. The Host will experience slight pain level seven in two minutes," the System told me in my mind.

"System damn it, I'll have to lie down and pretend not to feel pain so as not to worry my parents. I hope this time I don't end up paralyzed like the first time I experienced the transformation in my body," I thought.

"Lisa, let's rest for a week; we need to balance training with rest," I say, entering the house with her. I then hide the wooden swords under my bed.

"Yes, that's fine, but it'll be boring. What will we do then?" Lisa said, furrowing her brow.

"You should learn more words during this break, and also learn to add and subtract," I say, gesturing for her to look at the paper and pencil on the table.

"But that will also be boring," she said, her eyes sparkling with tears beginning to form.

"I'll give you the meat from my dinner every day," I say, patting her head.

"Promise?" she said, her face overflowing with joy.

I immediately went to lie down on my bed to wait for my pain to start again, while Lisa sat at the table and began to study.

[Third-person POV]

Two minutes later, Lancel began to feel as if there was a bomb in his brain that detonated every fifteen seconds. At this moment, he couldn't think of anything other than dying from this pain. Tears filled his eyes, and an hour passed until Mary came home from work. He only went out to greet her before going back to rest in bed.

Lisa was in the dining room studying, seeming focused, but if one looked closely, they would notice that she still had tears in her eyes from studying.

In the evening...

"Children, come eat; dinner is ready," Mary called them to the dining room.

Lisa sighed in relief and quickly went to sit in her chair, eager to eat and hoping that her brother would keep his promise.

Lancel got up with difficulty, the instinct making him able to get up and go to dinner with his family without showing the pain on his face. When his parents weren't paying attention, he gave Lisa the meat from his plate to keep his promise. Lisa immediately felt happy and gave her brother a joyful smile.

After dinner, he went to bed immediately, but the pain kept him awake. Lisa slept alongside him because she couldn't sleep peacefully at night alone. Robert just shook his head at this.

[POV Lancel]

The next day, I still had the same pain. I don't know how long I'll be like this, and I prefer not to ask the system to avoid distressing myself further.

"Lisa, wake up," I say, shaking her shoulders.

"Good morning," she said, still sleepy.

"Good morning. Come on, get up and wash your face so we can go eat," I say, pulling
Lisa got up immediately after I told her we were going to have breakfast. Our mother prepares exquisite dishes, so I wasn't surprised by Lisa's reaction when she heard we were going to eat.

After breakfast, our parents went to work, so Lisa went to get the wooden sword to start the morning training.

"Lisa, train by yourself; I'll rest today," I say with a smile, hiding my headache.

"Okay," Lisa responded, nodding her head.

Lisa trains her balance, which is all I allow her to do since she's still too young to exert herself more. So, every move she makes puts in the minimum effort in combat, focusing on improving her technique.

In the afternoon, I stopped feeling explosions in my brain, immediately sighing in relief. 'Good, it seems I've freed myself from this torture of a system,' I thought.

"The Host can choose its last option to start the process," the System said in my mind.

"I would like to wait, but time is of the essence. With the dangers in this world, it's better to continue now. I'll go with the last option," I thought.

"System, start the process for the last option," I say with a sigh.

"What soul power would the Host like?" the System asked me.

"Since I was young, I've liked cultivation systems. I should ask to expand my spiritual senses, as it will help me in tactics in war or to find the whereabouts of someone nearby," I thought.

"I want the power of spiritual sense," I tell the System.

"Starting the Host's last option. Loading spiritual sense in the Host. Wait time is one year and seven months," the System said in my mind.

"Darn it, now it's really going to hurt, damn it," I thought upon hearing the wait time.

"Lisa, practice with me in combat," I say to Lisa with a smile.

"Okay, this time I'll beat you!" she said excitedly.

"We'll see; don't let your guard down and attack however you want," I say, defending against all her sword cuts.

Ten minutes later, Lisa got tired of training in combat, while I was surprised at how quickly she improves in each training session when she fights me.
