[Third person POV]

Boy, is that animal a wolf?" asked Tyrion from atop the ledge.

"It's a direwolf, his name is Ghost. What are you doing up there? Why aren't you at the feast?" Jon answered him and immediately asked out of curiosity.

"I've had too much to drink tonight, and I'm bored with the celebrations with my sister," Tyrion replied with a hint of drunkenness.

"Do you want to come down from there? Shall I bring you a ladder?"Jon asked, seeing that he was too tall for the man's stature.

"Come on now," Tyrion sneered, jumping down from the ledge. As he fell to the ground and stood up, he looked down at the wolf who looked up at him emotionlessly.

"May I pet your direwolf?" Tyrion asked him, for he had a great fascination with adventure and for the first time he was looking at a beast so famous in the north of Westeros.

"Ghost" Jon repeated, and ordered Ghost to sit still beside him "Now you may pet him."

Tyrion stroked the animal's fur, Jon seemed to see Tyrion as if he were a child by the look on his face as he stroked Ghost.

"I am Tyrion Lannister," Tyrion said.

"I know," Jon said.

"You're Eddard Stark's bastard, aren't you?" Tyrion asked looking at the young man's reaction "Have I offended you?".

"Lord Stark is my father" Jon replied through gritted teeth.

"Let me give you some advice, you bastard. Never forget what you are, because the world certainly won't forget it. Make it your greatest weapon, so it will never be your weak point. Use it as armour and no one can use it to hurt you," Tyrion told him, looking into the young man's eyes.

"What do you know what it means to be a bastard?" Jon raised his voice, he was in no mood for anyone's advice.

"All dwarves are bastards in the eyes of their fathers" Tyrion said, remembering the way his father and sister had treated him over the years.

"You are a legitimate son; your mother was the wife of the Lannister lord" Jon stressed what he knew of him.

"Really? Then tell him. My mother died giving birth to me, and he's never been quite sure" Tyrion said sarcastically.

"I don't even know who my mother was," Jon said in a low tone, remembering asking his father to tell him what his mother was like. But since his father's curt, emotionless reply in his eyes that he should not ask again, he has kept his sadness to himself.

"A woman, no doubt. Like most mothers. Remember well what I tell you, boy. All dwarves may be bastards, but not all bastards are necessarily dwarves," Tyrion said with a smile, then turned away and continued on his way to the feast.

At Starfall...

"Are you sure that's the house of Lord Dayne's bastard son?" a man asked a young squire spy of Littlefinger.

"Aye, this is the home of those who took care of him" The squire replied with a cruel smile, tightening his grip on the three silver coins in his pocket.

"Tonight we will pay them a surprise visit" The man said turning around heading towards an inn, along with two men who were accompanying him on his mission.
