Z,

I stood in front of the mirror, cleaning up my blazer the best I could. I wanted to look good for this brunch and for Harry too. Ever since our argument in the car and my letting him go, we hadn't said a word to one another. There was nothing I could say. He wouldn't want me to say much, instead, he'd want me to show him. That's what I was going to do. I had taken the ring off and it was still in the car in the glove compartment - Liam still hadn't noticed its absence.

As for his letter, it wasn't in my wallet anymore. I hadn't tossed it away either. After bringing a very excited and high-on-sugar Jaimie home, I went to the bedroom and placed the letter in the bottom of one of my drawers. I felt immediately lighter as if a weight had been removed from my shoulders and my shackles were broken. That's where it was still.

My therapist was right, I had the tools in front of me and I had the courage as well, all I had to do now was move in the right direction without any fear. I needed to let my ego at bay and search within my heart for the right path. I was grown, man. I couldn't be kept hostage forever and not hold on to childish behaviours. Not when happiness was so close.

And yes, it was questionable of me to pursue someone else while in a relationship. It was a commitment I broke with Liam but...I couldn't hold off on it any longer. The only thing I was certain is what I wanted and was willing to do at that moment.

I agreed to the brunch. I was going to see Harry, to keep an eye on him and all possible movements from that Simon Cowell. Also, to be there for Liam, I wanted him to be happy and empowered before our conversation.

I had decided that I'd move out tonight. After everything. Before picking up Jaimie at school yesterday, I went over to my flat, preparing whatever was needed for my arrival - the mattress was still there, and so was the lonely lamp. I did a bit of groceries shopping putting some food in the fridge (no noodles or canned tuna this time). Also added more things to make the house more liveable and to appear less deserted. I had bought this flat with the first earnings from the investment at the gym and it was my secret place. I had never rented or loaned it to a friend. It was my place.

So, everything was set up. Everything was prepared and I was not going to back down.

"Bloody hell, babe..." I turned around finding Liam standing by the door. He wore a deep blue suit with a white shirt and glasses, giving him a more intellectual look. He was so attractive I had to look him up and down. "You look good."

"You think so?"  I turned to myself assessing my choice: a grey suit with matching pants and a white shirt.

"Yeah, going to make me take extra caution."

"What do you mean?"

"Well..." Liam walked into the room, standing behind me. "Look at you. Pretty thing with those eyes and those lips. Going to have those old vultures drooling."

I scoffed, feeling the thunder of my ego clap inside. I kept it at bay.

"Liam, please."

"I'm serious, babe," Liam responded. "Do you know how hot you are? Do you want to skip brunch? Because we can...We can do the nasty right here, right now."

I let out a nervous laugh, walking that fine line between adoration and ego-stroking. Liam's hand rested on my arm, and he planted a kiss on my neck.

"You're the most handsome man, I've ever seen."

My ego did catapult inside of me. A tempting proposition, but I needed to focus. I turned to Liam, wiping down his lapel.

"You got everything under control?"
