My music work at Keaton and going to premieres for the Annie movie kept me busy. I'm feeling rather better from my breakup with Kelly. I knew I'd be...after our short-lived relationship but it somewhat felt like a year. The phrase time goes by is true. Also true that your squad always have your back. Jack, Leila and CJ. They weren't sure of keeping contact with Kelly after the cheat debacle but I be the same if it was their partners. Another week went by and I'm so blessed it's the week off after promoting Annie and working on new music. Maybe I'll put it hold for another movie. Who knows? Anyways, CJ planned for all four of us to spend our romance free two weeks at her house. Her parents are gone for a business trip so it'll be just us = more partying and chilling. Spending a week meant we needed to get our sleep bags and pack our necessities. I clearly picked up everyone on the way. The important thing is they DO NOT leave my car filled of messy food, messy wrappers, messy hair scrunchies, messy yada yada yada. I want my blue beautiful baby to stay smelling good and clean. Leila was next to me in the passenger seat but Jack was in the backseat. He scoffed. "You weren't wrong River. Your car does smell like strawberries." He said. Leila playfully rolled her eyes and smiled. "Smells good. Nothing compared to my Dad's red Jeep." She told me. I sighed happily. "Your flattery's giving me feels." I joked. They rolled their eyes and chuckled. I smirked innocently. Jack cheered wildly. "Two weeks? Two weeks at CJ's without parents! Thank lord!" He cheered. Lily fake gasped. "Jack." She said. I smiled proudly. "Well I don't blame him." I joked. We laughed, high-fiving. I turned back to the road. "Is CJ already there?" Leila asked. I nodded. "She's just waiting...or looking for the keys to the house." I said. She whipped her head at me concernedly. I laughed. "Relax I'm kidding." I said. She breathed a breath of relief. Leila is practically the mother of the group. She makes sure we're not doing crazy, shitty things yet we do them anyway. She'd always have our backs and be the peacemaker. Knowing how me, Jack, CJ are like it's absolute necessary. A moment of silence was present. Jack sighed. "Couple of fifteen year olds spending two weeks at a friend's house with no parents. Nobody will believe us." He added. We nodded in agreement. Hella true! I finally came across CJ's house and parked in the driveway. Leila smiled excitingly. "Yay! Now, no parties or inviting people we don't know. Eh Jack?" She said, growling at the last part. He rolled his eyes. "Did you hear me Lil? Nobody would believe we're fifteen and staying home alone." He said annoyedly. I lifted up a finger. "Wait! Our parents will probably believe it and pick us up so chill." I said. Jack pointed at me in agreement. We got out and pulled our bags from the trunk. I locked the car, putting my keys in my pocket and coming to the doorstep. They followed behind. "Better hope she got the keys." I mumbled before ringing the doorbell. Lily smirked. "River, you somewhat have a weakness for leather jackets? You wear them all the time." She teased. Jack returned the gesture. "Ms. Leather. Cool." He said. I scoffed. "Oh hush. My jackets are jackets." I said. As they looked another way, I snuggled my left chest sleeve to my stomach. The door opened, revealing a man around his 30s. His hair was fully dark like CJ's and hazel brownish eyes. He wore blue jeans, red converse and a black coat jacket. We shared confusion. I'm sorry, who the hell is this guy? He smiled kindly. "Ah! You must be CJ's friends!" He said. We looked at him weirdly. CJ came beside him and smiled nervously. "Guys, this is my Uncle Drell. Uncle Drell, this is River, Leila and Jack." She introduced. We waved nervously, fake smiling. I dear pray we aren't in trouble or I'm gonna kill CJ. I playfully chuckled. "Hey Uncle D! CJ's never told me about you before. You must be from a thousand miles." I said. He nodded. "I sure am! Cmon, let's get inside so I can tell you more." He said. We came inside but I could've sworn Jack was breathing a breath of relief. "Jack, keep your egg salad breath off my ears." I whispered/growled. He stuck his tongue at me. Drell motioned us to head upstairs. "Are you all sleeping upstairs or down? Staying arrangements are important!" He said half jokingly. "Jack can crash on the couch and the girls can take my room." CJ told him. Lily cleared her throat. "Mr. CJ's uncle- he cut her off. "Please! Call me Drell." He beamed. I raised an eyebrow. "Are you always this smiley? And how come I never seen you before?" I sassed. Drell fake smiled. "Are you always asking questions?" He growled through gritted teeth. Wow. Someone's ill-tempered. I only have temper if someone push my buttons fast. Jack cleared his throat. "I have a question. How come the girls get the rooms but I have the couch?" He asked. Leila rolled her eyes. Drell clasped his hands and smiled. "Right! I'll set up your spot here. All of you head upstairs to talk while I get to work." He told us. CJ looked at him confusedly. "Don't you need help? A bed is heavy." She asked. Drell glared silently. We laughed quietly, covering our mouths. She gulped. "Sorry." She blurted. We gathered our bags and walked upstairs. Hm, odd man.

No one POV
Once the kids left, Drell rubbed his hands before clapping them instantly. A 5-inched bed covered in blue blankets appeared. He smirked, pulling out his wand and waving it three times. Two comforters appeared with a warmly lit fireplace. Suddenly, a blue squirrel Patronus flew through the door and an anonymous female's voice was heard. Drell huffed irritatingly. "Every time." He muttered. 'Drell Spellman, you're needed at the Ministry next morning. I understand you're supposed to be taking care of your niece but hopefully, you could make an exception...which is tell her you're a wizard! Her family would understand. Anyways, see you at the Ministry at 7:00am.' It voiced before disappearing in a blink. Drell groaned deeply while flunking himself on the magicked bed. "I need a vacation." He whined.

River POV
"So, anybody thinks CJ's got a weird uncle?" I asked. Jack raised his hand. Lily chuckled. "He's not weird. He's just friendly, right CJ?" She said. She nodded her head no. "Nope, he's weird." She agreed. I smiled. She rolled her eyes. "Seriously?" She asked. Jack smiled sheepishly. "Aside from his sudden visit and getting a couch spot, including his ill-temper...it's a little odd." He said. I took off my TOMS and put on my white-fluffy slippers. "Yeah. Have you ever seen him before?" I asked. CJ placed her hands behind her head on the pillow and sighed. "Only during holidays. My birthdays too. Honestly, he's usually the fun Uncle. He brings the best Christmas gifts, throws good parties and enjoys gingerbread cookies. But he's usually gone half the year since I was little. None of us know where he is but assumed he likes traveling a lot." She explained. Jack inhaled a deep breath. "Whoa." He blurted. Leila shrugged. "Maybe he does love to travel. God knows I wanna." She said. I scoffed, crossing my arms. "So do we. All I hear is you never seen him much since you were little and nobody knows where he is. Don't your parents think that's a little concerning?" I said. CJ huffed. "What's concerning is him "babysitting" for two weeks!" She complained. I rolled my eyes. "Oh relax. I've had worse babysitters." I said. Leila scoffed. "Who?" She asked. "Michael and Maximus." I quickly said. The thought made me shiver. Jack chuckled. CJ almost spoke till Drell's voice echoed. "JACK! COME HERE!" He shouted. He jumped instantly, running out of the room. We rubbed our ears and I groaned. "Damn he's loud." I said through gritted teeth. They nodded in agreement. CJ sighed. "Let's finish unpacking. Uncle Drell's planning to make us his 'superb' dinner tonight. He wants us to help." She said. I looked at her in disbelief. "Cook? You want us to cook?" I asked. Leila giggled. "What's so bad about cooking?" She asked. I hummed in response. "Excuse me if I thought the frozen pizzas your parents left behind was gonna be dinner." I sassed. Leila covered her mouth in a chuckle. CJ playfully rolled her eyes and smirked. "You want a free weekend? Let's cook." She said. I sighed. "He better not try fish instead of salmon." I mumbled.
