The thing with my fingers messed with my mind all night. It is all unexplainable, but many questions kept filling up my head. What CJ said echoed through. 'The wand only chooses you. It doesn't matter if you're muggleborn or not. You could definitely have powers.' If I were to have powers, it would be awesome for real and I'd do amazing things like save someone's life or fight crazies. Me dropping ice cubes from my finger seems like if my power is ice. Hopefully not! If anything I prefer water instead. "River! River!" A voice called from the door. I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed I'm still in the bathroom. "Yeah?!" I yelled. "I need to go inside!" Lucy yelled back. I finished washing my hands and the water shaped itself into a sphere above my palms. My eyes widened. Oh my god. I turned off the faucet and opened the door. She huffed impatiently. "About time!" She said. I fake smiled. "Try not to leave any hairs behind." I joked. She rolled her eyes as I walked out to slip on my bracelets and checked if my shoes were laced up. My phone buzzed. Leila was texting me.

I playfully rolled my eyes and got off the bed. Our room door opened, revealing Fire—Lily's presence. I almost took a moment to respectfully admire her appearance. Her long hair was beautifully combed with two small buns, light makeup matched by her naturalness, tiny freckles proudly shown on her cheeks, those brown shimmering orbs and last but not least her outfit:

The arousing butterflies exploded in me. Lily smiled sweetly. "G'morning!" She said. I pretended to bow and winked. "Morning Potter Princess." I joked. She raised an eyebrow threateningly. "What did I tell you about these dumb names?" She asked sassily. I shrugged. "Sorry. I'm still warming up to Lily than Firecracker." I said sarcastically. Lily scoffed and smirked. "That's not what it sounded like last night." She teased. I sighed annoyedly. "Enjoying this aren't ya?" I asked. She smirked innocently. "A little bit." She said. A soft chuckle escaped my mouth. A moment of silence echoed the room. "Doing anything today?" She asked. I slipped my phone in my pocket. "Me and Ceej got a D.A.D.A/Potion lesson later." I told her. Lily groaned irritatingly. "Why?! Why would you do school during spring break?!" She whined. I nodded in agreement. "I'm missing a day of surfing or getting hotdogs cause CJ wanna learn how to brew potions instead of soup." I said. She smiled, shrugging. "D.A.D.A and Potions are actually fun. You'll love it in time." She told me. I inhaled a deep breath and fake smiled. "I'll try." I said in a high-pitched voice. It made her giggle softly. Man, it sounded really cute. I guess we'd save the talk about our little moment last night later. "Are you having any plans?" I asked. She fiddled with her fingers nervously. "I was thinking...we can take a walk around the Quidditch pitch. You and me. I could show you my flying skills." She said. I raised an eyebrow. "You want me to spend an hour watching you soar like a Firecracker?" I sassed in an uninterested tone. She chuckled and nodded her head no. "Think of it as an escape from your studies." She said, smirking at the last part. Escaping sounds like freedom to me. I can always work with Ceej on D.A.D.A stuff later. Besides it's spring break baby. I smiled widely. "Well take me away!" I beamed. She laughed before wrapping my jacket around herself. My eyes widened. "Ahem! Who told you to wear my jacket?" I asked in disbelief. She smiled innocently. "You did. Last night." She told me. I rolled my eyes. "Cause it was freaking chilly. You would've caught a flu." I said. Lily sighed happily while hugging it to her chest. "That's why I'm wearing it. I'm staying warm." She lied. Was I right or what? My jacket fitted her perfectly. She's like a leather image of Cheryl Blossom. "Cat got your tongue?" She teased. I snapped out of my thoughts and cleared my throat. "Forget it. Let's go." I said.

"Where have you been?! You missed D.A.D.A lessons!" CJ asked frantically. I walked in the Potions classroom that's part of Slytherin Dungeons. She was sitting on a table with two cauldrons. One of them's boiling of colors and the other's just boiling water. I smiled innocently. "Did I really?" I asked. She smirked. "Or you skipped for some fresh air." She answered correctly. I smiled proudly. "And it feels so good!" I said. CJ playfully rolled her eyes. "But really, you should've came. Lucy was grateful to leave but Molly wasted time making your boiling cauldron." She told me. I sat next to her and raised an eyebrow. "Someone else was giving me defense lessons." I whispered. She hummed in response. "Would it be Lily Luna Potter?" She teased, smirking. I scoffed and sighed. "Oh quit it. She was only giving me pointers on defense spells. Pretty alright I admit. Very good. Especially showing me her Quidditch skills." I told her. CJ low-key snickered. I looked at her confusedly. "Sorry! Albus jokes about James being the best Gryffindor Seeker. Truth is he's the worst." She giggled. I smiled knowingly. "Hm, been hanging out with Slytherin Potter lately." I teased. She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Yeah as friends." She quickly told me. I fake chuckled while using a spoon to fiddle with boiling water. "Truth is Albus is like the only guy you spoke to since coming here." I said. CJ nodded in disagreement. "I've talked to plenty of 'guy friends.' For example Hugo. He's really funny, sweet, goofy and a Hufflepuff seeker—I cut her off. "My best friend became Bella Swan overnight." I joked. She playfully nudged my shoulder. I looked down and snickered. "Lily's right. You are impossible." She muttered. I smiled confidently. "One of my awesome talents." I said proudly. My attention was thrown to the boiling cauldron. "Alright. What are we doing?" I asked. CJ smiled excitingly. "Making Amortentia potions." She told me. I looked at her weirdly. "Weirdest. Name. Ever." I blurted. She chuckled. "It's not complicated." She said before opening a textbook called Advanced Magic. "Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the Wizarding World. It causes powerful infatuation and obsession from the person who drinks it. The ingredients are pearl dust, ashwinder eggs, peppermint, moonstone—I cut her off. "We're making some love drug? Is this legal?" I joked but in a serious tone. She snickered. "No. It's perfectly safe as long as you don't drink it or let someone else drink it. The potion smells different to each person because of what attracts them. Let's get started!" She beamed.

After pouring required ingredients, we watched our cauldrons inflict spiraling steam and two different kinds of scent. Her steam was turning blue, mine was turning red. She sighed happily. "Now, just take a deep breath and inhale the scent. You'll probably smell many things that are from whom you're attracted to." She told me. I covered my mouth in a snicker. CJ snickered repeatedly. "Cmon let's focus! I'll go first!" She giggled. I managed to calm down as she closed her eyes and carefully smelled the steam. "Whoa." She whispered. "What? What is it?" I asked. She smiled rather warmly. "Crisp autumn air. Black coffee. Salted caramel chocolate. Old books. Fresh laundry..." She trailed off. The whole time I tried holding my snickers and wiping my laugh tear. CJ opened her eyes and sighed. "Your turn." She said. I cleared my throat before breathing into the reddish steam. Man, she was right. I smelt loads of different things. Not that they don't smell refreshing. My eyes were closed, feeling a hundred scents in one. "Paint. Orange juice. Bonfires. Crisp morning air. Freshly washed linen." I whispered. CJ snickered quietly. "I wonder whoever you're attracted smells like that." She teased. My eyes reopened and I scoffed. "Oh yeah? What hunk of yours smells like caramel chocolate?" I joked. She sighed happily, crossing her arms. "Hopefully I meet him at Dunkin' Donuts." She said dreamily. I chuckled. "What do we do with these?" I asked, referring to the potions. CJ shrugged. "Put them in bottles and keep them I guess. Maybe we'll talk with Molly." She said. I nodded. We poured the liquids in skinny bottles and shoved them in our pockets. Guess I'll figure out soon of my attraction with their scent. That natural-warming scent.
